What Do You Think About the Ruger LC9?

I love my LCP, and had cash in hand eagerly awaiting the release of the LC9. Then I saw that someone, for whatever reason, found it prudent to put a safety on it. I'm out. I do not want a safety on a pocket pistol.

I have a Lc9 it's. Around 4 years old. Bought. It new. A great ccw. Its been flawless. And has over 1000 rounds threw. It.

I have the older LC9. Very reliable. More than reasonably accurate. Not ammo sensitive (I shoot lots of the cheapest Eastern European and Russian stuff being sold!). The old model has a horrendous trigger and don't care for the mag disconnect. The LC9 pro would be the gun to get.

I've had one for several years.

I found it slightly used at the LGS for under $200. I liked the way it felt, so I bought it. It's been 100% reliable. I actually enjoy shooting it. The DA pull is a nice one IMO, very revolver like. Since I grew up on wheel guns, it's comfortable to me. I think it's a better trigger than many DAO autos out there. It's light, easy to conceal, easy to carry, easy to live with. You grab it just like grabbing your car keys or wallet.

Overall, it does exactly what I want it to do and is my EDC.

I've never been a Ruger guy (with the exception of their SAA revolvers) and my mi I Al experience with the LC9 didn't do anything to broaden my horizons to Ruger. A friend of mine has one and I've noticed that in addition to the horrid trigger pull, it is also finicky with ammo. I've ccw'd for 15 years and for me, it has to be either a Glock or a J-frame S&W.

I have one, the only 9mm I own use it for CC in warm weather, had S&W BG 380 before that, worse fire arm I ever owned but not for long.
LC9 is good for what it is, a bad breath gun, if you have to use it hope the perp is close enough to tell if he eats a lot of garlic.
The LC9 and a 1911 are the only center fire semi-autos I have, make mine, steel, wood and revolvers for the most part.

Size wise I don't see any advantage to the LC9s over the Shield. Both can be pocket carried in the right pants.

The LC9 (and LC9-S) is definitly thinner and smaller than the Shield. I've owned all 3 of them. It's lighter, too. And I prefer the magazine disconnect on the LC9.

None of them are optimal pocket carry guns. I've done it but it's not nearly as pocket-able as a J frame or a .380.
