The actor who plays Glen had his contract renewed by AMC. Leaked photos from the set also show him with a character not yet introduced.

Movies, and shows, arnt filmed in sequential order.

They said he would be back in some way shape or form. So there may be scenes with him that show the past or a dream or ......Like how when Lori died but Rick kept seeing her

The older dude (Dale) died. And the guy they sat by the tree is now aimlessly roaming around Georgia countryside going GRRRRR.....AAARRRG. ...

Either that or he stumbled across some survivors and had his skull ventilated

Remember the 1st (or 2nd) season........ cover yourself with Zombie gore and walk among them........grab bags of shotguns...... visit Tanks.(Think how the story would have been different if they'd just dumped the broken-down camper and grabbed a Stryker when they were in Atlanta.) ......................

so Glenn gets a Nicholas "bloodbath" and plays dead........ rolls under the dumpster.........they spent a lot of time laying/hiding under cars in the early years.
