Is it just me or is it really getting difficult to locate ammo, in stock, online? Seems most retailers are out of at least 95% of their items usually carried.

After some searching I did manage to find a supply of the 38Spec ammo I needed tonight. Still SOL on the .32 and .357 though.

Weird.. must be just you.

Kidding.. yeah ammo is tough to find, has been for a while now. Personally I don't notice as much because I'm well stocked now. But I happened to notice in wal mart tonight... all they had for handguns was .357s and .45s... which is actually a shock because those are two that are normally the first to go.

No offense, but how far behind enemy lines are you? Ammo has been in short supply and expensive when found for well over a year now.

I stocked up on ammon in huge amounts quite some time ago and have been chipping away at that stash ever since. This is the first time I've really been looking to buy alot in nearly a year.

Finally bit by the shortage

I had been feeling pretty smug around this ammo shortage thing. Had stocked up on reloading supplies for all the calibers I shoot about a year ago. Just coincidence, didn't see anything coming, just had the spare funds and seemed like a good idea.
All has been well, happily loading my own and no problems w/ammo.
Until early this week, bought a revolver in a caliber I haven't loaded for. Try to buy a box of ammo, none, try to buy some dies,ditto,bullets,same-same,shells,good luck!
So I've got this new to me revolver I can't play with!! Poor me.
Some of my friends call this type of thing a "luxury problem",they're right.
In time I'll get some ammo for it,meanwhile I can shoot other guns. More importantly we've got food on the table,a nice roof over our heads, and life is good. Kevin

Several years ago I stocked up on some factory ammo mostly 38's and 45acp. I had a few extr*** and thought I might need it if I fall behind in my reloading,99% of what I shoot I reload. Just before evilbay stopped the auctioning of brass and bullets I stocked up on both.
Just yesterday I found some 38's @ ammoman,Prvi Partizan at what I thought was a decent price so I ordered some. If I fall behind in loading I will have something to shoot even if it is just 158 LRN.

(Rolling ball, pins falling)
Wow-wee, ha, ha, ha, haaaaa, a strike

Boom-boom-boom, boom-a-boom-boom
Boom-boom-boom, boom-a-boom-boom, boom

Rip Van Winkle, Rip van Winkle
Sleep, sleep, sleep, ha, ha, ha, haaaaa
Rip Van Winkle, Rip Van Winkle
Sleep, sleep, sleep
Boom-boom-boom boom-a-boom-boom
Boom-boom-boom boom-a-boom-boom, boom

He fell asleep in the woods one day
Spent twenty years of his life that way

Boom-boom-boom boom-a-boom-boom
Boom-boom-boom boom-a-boom-boom, boom

Rip Van Winkle, Rip van Winkle
Sleep, sleep, sleep

That nagging wife kept all of his coin
None of his friends did he ever join

While those little elf's bowled on the green
He would dream, dream, dream

Oh well, he left his nagging wife now
He slept for 20 years
Didn't bother to wake up
He grew a long white beard
This is how the story goes
Listen my children and you will hear

He fell asleep in the woods one day
Spent twenty years of his life that way
That nagging wife kept all of his coin
None of his friends did he ever join
Rip Van Winkle, Rip van Winkle
Doo, doo, doo, doo, da-doo

Boom-boom-boom boom-a-boom-boom
Boom-boom-boom boom-a-boom-boom, boom

Rip Van Winkle, Rip van Winkle
Sleep, sleep, sleep
Rip Van Winkle, Rip Van Winkle
Sleep, sleep, sleep
Rip Van Winkle, Rip van Winkle
Slept his life away
Rip Van Winkle, Rip Van Winkle
Slept his life away

Boom-boom-boom boom-a-boom-boom
Boom-boom-boom boom-a-boom-boom, boom

Those little elf bowled on the green
Zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz [snoring]
(Rolling ball, pins falling, "wow-wee!")
