Would have used old trusty Mod.13, but in order to carry both I used Sigma 40VE. Used range furnished ammo.Funny thing happened on range,long armed fella in stall next me keep hitting my Sigma with hot empties causing to me to drop a point on qual. lol

I strongly doubt the value of all these range tests.
What do they prove?
The shooting portion of the class in Ohio is not very structured. It is mainly there to see if you can handle a pistol safely. So maybe that's the only validity to them.
The other states that have some sort of point scoring system are pointless. What are they proving? Static, square range marksmanship has about as much to do with using a handgun defensively as flying model rockets does with going to the moon.

Maybe but I want whoever is toten to be able to hit what they are aiming at even if it's paper.
The Rangemaster told us of one lady who failed the shooting part 3 times and finally passed on the fourth after taking a Months worth of shooting lessons.

As has been stated, the Michigan ccw test has a "show the instructor that you can safely handle and fire a handgun" purpose. Three hours range time is required. Our instructor encouraged our class to bring a .22LR out of deference to the indoor range we used. I shot my Colt Match Target 3rd issue with Remington Target loads.

Let's try some logic here
1) Gunfights are not static and stress free. You will be (or should be) moving and your target almost always will too. I think I can say that with 100% certainty even without having been in one.
2) The range test is static and not all that stressful.
3) Therefore, performing some artificial test that has no correlation with what will happen on the street does no one a service.
In fact, it does the duffers a DIS-SERVICE because they think they are "trained" and go about their lives thinking they are prepared. The only good thing is that our chances of being in an armed confrontation are very small to begin with.
It's best to issue the license after a classroom session on the laws and leave it at that. The people who will not seek training on their own will be just as unprepared as if they had shot 20 or 30 or however many rounds at some paper silhouette on a square range. And those like me who train and practice frequently will not have our time wasted.

I think that you will find that major backers of the required class room training and range tests are trainers. By backing laws requiring training and range tests administered by themselves for a fee, they insure themselves a steady stream of income.

I used my SW 1076 with target power reloads. I had just gotten a new SW99 for concealed carry, but hadn't shot it yet, so I took a gun I was comfortable and accurate with.

I think you will find just the opposite, in fact, I know that to generally be true amongst Missouri instructors. Politicians are the ones who like to require training, whereas most of your instructors tend to believe that we all have the right to carry based solely off of the Second Amendment.
Instructors generally advocate that people who carry guns should seek out training, but most would not wish to make it a requirement to exercise one's God given right.

I'm sure circumstances vary from location to location.
I used my SW3913 with wwb for the first 5 rounds which is when the weapon belonging to the young woman in our group began to malfunction. I loaned her my SW and I finished up with my CZ75b which I just purchased the day before and had yet to fire. End result she is now looking for a 3913 and I can't put down the CZ but I intend to carry the 3913.

In TX if you qualify with a revolver, you can only CCW a revolver. If you qualify with a semi, you can carry either. For the sake of being able to conceal either a revolver or a semi-auto I qualified with a Sig 229 9MM.

It was about 12 yrs ago and I had just purchased a H & K USP in 40 cal, used it and basic 40 cal target loads.

My wife and both shot a model 17, 4" combat masterpiece. We shot well, and with very little cost. Some of the people had quite a time with their 357 j frames and the like.
