What gun do you reach for the most?

If I'm in a "Remote" part of town it's usually my EDC, a Gen 1 Kimber Compact Aluminum in 45ACP.

If at my farm something in a center fire rifle caliber along with a handgun in a caliber starting with a "4"

The reason for the rifle is this http://twra.maps.arcgis.com/apps/StoryMapBasic/index.html?appid=800fe4e965594896ad6200e5ed1ccbab The sighting in Carroll County (Second map marker from left) is less than 3.5 miles from my farm. We spotted a large cat in one of our fields about 6 months before the confirmed sighting just to the west of us. Only difference in the sightings were scat and hair samples found along with a deer carcass at the confirmed sighting spot.

Class III

Usually my Colt Clapp or S&W E Series lately, both in 45acp. The Clapp has an amazing trigger.

SLT223 apparently thinks like me. When I go out to the everglades I carry a 629-1, 3"bbl, round grip. I really like that revolver. When I catch up to modern technology I will learn to post pictures of it. It is my first ever three inch revolver and I really like that configuration.

Swamp or city, the NAA Black Widow is always in my pocket.

If I'm wearing my pants, there is a Kahr CW45 in my pocket (except in prohibited places). When I'm woods bumming, I add a M69 (either 2 ¾" or 4 ¼") on my hip. If I'm bow hunting elk, a M329 is carried cross draw, available to either hand.

Back when I would bum around in the woods once in a while I found a High Standard Sentinel 22 in an Uncle Mike's Sidekick holster was just about perfect for my needs. Helped to keep the pine cones and such at bay.

When I go out in the uncivilized paved road areas, I carry a Ruger LCP. I used to carry the big stuff, but I'm old and lazy now.

Old and lazy nay sir merely a man of learned wisdom.

I also carry a Ruger LCP, for the most part. Most of us don't live in grizzly country, and many of us don't live in black bear country, so when I walk on a trail by myself, it's bad people who would be my main concern. There are a few mountain lions in our region, but they are seen very rarely and keep in mind there have been only 14 fatal mountain lion attacks in all of the US AND Canada over the last 50 years or so. Still, if it's cool enough to wear a jacket on my regularly frequented trail, I'll bring along a 9mm or a .40 or a .38 Special K frame loaded w/Buffalo Bore.

Just around town shopping 66 2 1/2" plus one speed loader, Down to the big city where crime is more prevalent, I bring my Glock 19 plus one magazine. When I'm out in rural Arizona I bring my 629 5" in my gun belt , holster combo. Once in a while I will take a 5" 1911 in all three cases, I don't feel under gunned with a 1911.

My Dad had a J.C. Higgins model 88 he got at Sears when he was a kid. I think it is pretty much the same gun rebranded. It was the first "real gun" I ever shot. He carved his initials into the grips. It's mine now and it's the only gun I would never sell.

Model 60-10, 3". Load it up with 38's in town, when in the sticks It is loaded with 158 gr. 357. Keep a 10 rds of 38 in a flat pocket ammo case so I can do some plinking if I want to.
I give up one round to the K & L frames, but the little 60 carries much easier.

Remote does kind of say 629. Mine is a 3" double Magnaported PC. 1026 isn't so bad, either. But if large four-legged creatures seem very unlikely, I feel pretty comfortable with an Improved Model 56 and a few speedloaders. While a Government Model or a Para-Ord might be better, a revised flight plan might be better yet.
