What gun is your nightstand gun?

(If I hadn't sold ALL my GUNS!)
Wintertime, Heavily dressed bad guy, it would be a 22-4 45acp...easier to wield than a 12gauge shotgun. It is duck hunting season isn't it?

Springfield Armory GI .45. No bells, no whistles, just like it came from WWII...I even replaced the grips with GI plastic. I keep it loaded with Speer Lawman 200 gr. HP.

On my side of the bed... M21-4 with Blazer Gold Dots, RIA 1911 with Georgia Arms hollowpoints, 12 ga double barrel coach gun propped against the wall and nightstand.
Wifes side... Taurus M445 .44 special snubby, High Standard 1911 .45 compact, Remington 20 ga semi auto propped against the wall.

Headknocker and DC Wilson:

Thanks for the information. I wasn't aware of the L frame models and configurations.

A 1990 SA Standard worked over by my retired Coast Guard Gunners Mate friend with Ranger 230 gr. JHP's, no round in chamber. Reason is for safety as my grandaughter cannot cycle the slide and I want to be awake and aware if and when trouble comes. Also a 870 riot loaded to the hilt with OO. no round in chamber. Cell phone a must also.

A 3" 657 in the living room with 210 gr. Speer Gold Dot's.

Also a alarm system to assist my 85 lb. American Bulldog buddy Bruno. We sleep VERY secure at night!

Merry Christmas All!

The moon clip conversion was a after market that I had done. I also have a Mossberg 590 tactical 9 round shot gun in my bedroom closet. the 242 is for the wife when I am at the firehouse.

Usually the 5N7 with 20 rounds of 40gr V-Max because of wife and grandson in the house.

But sometimes I have the DW on duty, but usually will have the 4" barrel installed.

The main reason for the FN is without a round in chamber and the manual safety it is pretty secure around a 4 year old if he got hold of it some how. Also the 40 gr V-Max are not big wall penetrators and that might be useful in the house.

I don't like nightstand guns. I can handle guns in my sleep and they scare the heck out of me. I keep an M-16A1 clone across the room and I can grab my 629 out of the safe if I want to instead. Two or three steps across the room, in order to get the cobwebs out of my head, are a good thing IMO.

My side: EAA Witness .45 ACP loaded with Remington Golden Saber 230 gr. HP.

Wife's side: M67 with Federal Nyclad 125 gr. HP

Various others where they will do us some good if we aren't in the bedroom when TSHTF.

Glock 20 with 16 rounds of 135-grain Noslers, lasermax and streamlight. Revolver simplicity with more than double the ammo capacity.

Sig P220 w/200g Winchester Silvertips. I've been thinking about moving to my 1911 because its got night sights.

Anyone know much about Federal HydroShock boolits? I have a couple dozen in both 230g and 165g and I've been tempted to switch from the Silvertips to those. I don't need the latest and greatest, hell, it's a .45acp and close range at that.
