What gun is your nightstand gun?

It varies. Right now, a circa 1955 S&W 1950 Target 4" .44 spl; sometimes a circa 1958 Colt Single-Action 4 3/4" .45; sometimes a Springfield 1911 w/ night sights; sometimes a 629 (no dash) 4". Wife's side: a Model 66-4 3". Under the bed on my side: A Remington 870 HD with five highbrass #6's. Life is an adventure.... Mike

Things are different today than a few years ago.
When we lived in Wyoming I had an 870 that was a few steps away and a Mdl. 13 nearby. The wife doesn't handle semi's very well so I have always had a revolver near for her.

When we moved to Texas, a grand daughter became a frequent visitor so the easy access guns went in the safe. No shotgun and no revolvers out. Now I have a Glock 21 (Hydrashocks) nearby that is placed there at bed time. I guess the wife will have to throw rocks.

Paranoia has nothing to do with it. It is called being prepared. I know they're out there and I won't let the get me. . . .

Okay, don't get the wrong idea...I just like to assume that I MIGHT miss with 9 rounds, so the second 9 rounds from my Beretta 90-Two should do the trick. Then there's my wife...God help you if she gets her nightstand drawer open. Ten more rounds of "laser tag", and not in a good way.

The car alarm of the neighbor LEO's vehicle went off the other night...It looked like roll call at the precinct. The Homeland Security guy next door, the aforementioned LEO, across the cul-de-sac, and me, all trying to "not look armed"...
