In 1965 I was issued a Model 15 when I was in the USAF, tried a couple of Colt revolvers over the years, and really enjoyed the Colt Cobras.
As a primary duty gun from 1970 to 1997 carried an assortment of Smith revolvers. 97 to 2003 Issued a Glock by the Agency I worked for.
Swore, upon retiring, that I would never use another Plastic gun.
That was until I shot a M&P 45C. I now own and shoot a 45c as a competition and house gun. Just purchased and I'm carrying a M&P40c with one mag, flashlight and a set of flex cuffs, 90% of the time. 135grain HSTs in the 40. The other 10% I'm at home and feel no need to carry.
The 40c is close to the same overall size and weight as the SP I traded for it.
Holds 11 rounds over 5 and it has a 2 second reload of 10.
3 shots of 135HSTs into 7/8ths of an inch at 15 yds offhand. What's not to like.
