What guns do you carry the most?

During my working hours, I carry a Glock 22. In my evening times out, I carry a S&W model 66 or 686 with four inch barrels. When wearing a suit or jacket on weekends I will carry a 1911 in .45acp.

Over the years I have learned it is not what you carry but how well you can use it.

I have an attorney friend that carries a custom Springfield .45 all the time and has done so for the last 8 yrs. But he has NEVER fired it. The gun remains unfired since new. It may not even work but it has been well over 15 yrs since the guy has shot a handgun. To me, that is stupid.

Mainly a Model 37 DAO but at times a Tomcat. Both in pocket holsters or the 37 in an ankle holster. Sometimes one reload.

I used to carry a Model 66 or 686 snub until my back got bad and have reduced the weight now.

Now, a Colt 1908 in .380 made in 1930. More frequently a Smith 386PD or a Colt 1991. Less often, a CS45 or a Glock M30. All carried in one of several pancake holsters. It depends on the occasion, the weather or my mood.

4" 29, or a Ruger 45 SA. Now and then a Smith 19.

Winchester 94, Winchester 71, 1903 Springfield sporter, Browning 86 carbine.

More often the larger caliber guns since the bears have been increasing their range. All the old ideas about what "bear country" is don't apply any longer around here.

I probably carry my Kahr P9 the most, but carry P series Sigs next most often (226, 220, or 245). Of late, as temperatures rise and clothing options narrow, I've also been finding times when it's very convenient to slip the 642 in a front pocket.

That's got to be one of the most astonishing things I've ever read!

I practice with what I carry & feed it well...I hope you do, too.

Taurus PT-145, 99% of the time; S&W 637-2 Titanium or my Walther PPK/S, 1%.
But it isn't just the gun, its what you feed it.

The PT-145 has Aguilar (alloy, super frag) and Hydra-shock :)(magazine filler for add'l mags), the S&W has Federal Personal Defense:D (110gr super sonic with high fragmentation), and the PPK/S has Glazer:D (ballistics like a .357 mag). All of these rounds perform way past FMJ and normal Jacketed bullets. Cast lead bullets:( don't belong in personal defense weapons--in my less than humble opinion--but I'd opt for them over FMJ rounds.

Finally, I carry speed loaders for the S&W--something you need to practice:cool: with regularly--and extra mag(s) for the PT and PPK/S.

I carry the ones that go BANG all the TIME and never malfunction! My Glock 26 with IWB holster, J Frame in Pocket Holster and my Kel-Tech 3AT in a pocket holster. I use Power Ball defense ammo in all three guns.//END//

As of two weeks ago (had to qualify w/new guns) these are what I carry, either individually or in pairs -
SW1911 9mm Pro Series
586 L-Comp
Custom 9mm 360J

1. 3032 Tomcat in pocket holster.
2. S&W 60 in molded pancake
3. Springfield Mil-Spec in molded pancake

I was not satisfied with the commercial holsters so I built all my own.

Sig P220 Elite with 1-2 spare mags along with a S&W model 60. .357, 1 speed strip and 1 Galco 2x2x2. Sometimes more ammo or guns if the situation calls for it.
