I couldn't list all of them...my memory isn't that good...but what quickly comes to mind...

S&W 5906PC
Walther TPH 22lr
Beretta 1201FP
S&W 52 (mint new in box unfired....ugh)
Armalite AR50
Remington Nylon 66 Black Diamond
Benelli M1
HK91, HK94
Colt AR15 - a few of those
A few Sigs.....220s, 226s, 229, 232
two Springfield Professionals
FN FAL with a really cool serial number..
S&W 439, 639, 3913, 669
a couple Remington 700's that I built up as sniper type rigs

a bunch of other stuff, but those come to mind...

I learned a while back to never sell one....yet - so far I'm sticking to it..

One day I might replace any of those if the right deal comes along.

Here are a few:

-3 1/2" Pre Model 27
-4" Model 16-4
-2" Pre Model 34

...among many, many others!

no particular order ......39-2...model 19....5906....DW .44 mag.....Winchester model 70 .22-250....Ruger Mini14 ranch .223.....AMT .22 auto-mag.....dont really miss the AMT .....but that .22 magnum platform in semi-auto is tons o' fun....

I regret the only ones I sold; a light weight Ruger Single six, a Colt 1911 and a S&W Model 34. I felt the worst about the Model 34, so when I retired over 40 years later, I replaced it twice, just like the OP Rapidray did with his Model 58. And I know just how he feels about doing so.

Mossberg 500a (just a hunting style long barrel wood stock and forend) and two 22lr rifles. No idea what the brands were for the 22s. At the time I had no idea what a gun registration was and I was broke in New York and I took the guy's lowball cash offer in the Wal-Mart parking lot. I did keep the single shot break barrel 410 though. I didn't keep the wife that pushed me to make that deal.

This is probably not all of them, but these come easily to mind:

4" Nickel 31-1
4" Nickel 34
16-4s in all three barrel lengths, all three ANIB
6" Blued 48-4
Nickel 58 (swapped this one for a 4" Nickel 29; finally replaced it a few years ago)
NIB Fluted 657-4 Classic Hunter (Best I can tell this one was not catalogued...) This one makes me particularly sick!

Ultra light FN 243 commercial 98, douglas barrel, tack driver, $400. No justification.

I've sold or traded over 100 guns and I really don't regret most of them. Buying something, playing with it for a while and deciding whether to keep it or trade it off has made it possible for me to own just about everything out there from BP revolvers to a first year production, fully engraved Wildey pistol in .45 Winchester Magnum and just about everything in between for handguns and everything from a matchlock to machineguns for long guns. This way I get to work with different guns and keep only those that really work for me. That's pretty much settled into pre-lock S&W revolvers, mostly K-Frames and Glocks for autoloaders.

The one and only I truly regret trading was the first carry gun I had custom built for me by Karl Sokol at Chestnut Mountain Sports. It was a 3" Smith Model 65 that he built for my 21st birthday. It was getting pretty worn mechanically and had some flame cutting on the cylinder and topstrap. Regardless, I'd like to have it back, for sentimental reasons.

It was traded at the now closed Cheap Shot Gun Shop in Thornton, NH. If anyone has a custom 3" 65 serial number BPS1861, I'd like the chance to buy it back from you.

If you have any of the other 100+ guns I've traded, I hope you're enjoying them!

None, really.

I've sold a few that I can think of:

  • Taurus M85
  • S&W 4516-1
  • Ruger Mini-14
  • Ruger SS Super Blackhawk (7-1/2")
  • Bulgarian Milsurp Makarov (still in the grease)
  • Essex 1911 in .45ACP

None of these were sold because I needed the money or disliked it - but all were sold to fund another purchase. I've been fortunate in that I haven't had to sell any purely for the money; I hope someday to be able to either sell my collection off to help with my grandson's education or to leave it to my daughter & her husband, to do with it as they please.

My Ruger 4inch stainless 357 GP100.I missed it so much I bought another one a month later and will never sell it.

I've sold a few guns and don't regret selling any of them since I wasn't shooting them, I had become ambivalent to them, and they went to others who we're going to use them rather than sit in a safe (from what I understood at the time at least). I didn't sell any guns because of the need for money or to justify buying something else. But I'm not going to sell anything more even though there are still some that just reside in the safe. They've all been shot a lot and so I have a strong attachment to them.

1968 Model 36 with Tyler T-grips...wait, I gave it to my daughter-in-law.
1984 stainless Ruger Service Six with Tyler T-grips...wait, I gave it to my son.
2010 Ruger LCR...wait, I gave it to my daughter.
I think I must be getting dementia.
Thank God I haven't sold the rest of my handguns!

Beretta Cougar chambered in .40 caliber. I had a Glock 23 at the time and a Sig 229 also in .40, so I figured I didn't need one of them.

The Cougar felt great in my hand and had negligible recoil. I didn't shoot it as well as the Glock or Sig, but in hindsight, I should have kept it, and got good with it.

I also sold the Glock, and I wish I still had it.

Thinking of selling the 229 but I'll probably keep it.

Remington 1903A3, sold it in 1975 for $85. Colt Trooper 357, Colt Detective special, Kimber Eclipse Target, a pre64 Winchester 94, Smith&Wesson model 64, Smith&Wesson 629, Smith&Wesson 19, Sig Sauer 225, Sig Sauer 938, a Colt lwt commander, and believe or not a AMT Hardballer.
