What handgun is your "Go-To" gun?

Other then the size the XD is a fine carry gun. When you figure 27 rounds of .45 ACP (with one extra mag) what more can you ask for?

It comes with a double mag holder and 2 mags; I bought an extra one today, so I can venture out with 14 in the gun and two spares on the belt. I'm taking off the next 2 weeks, so I plan to put a couple of hundred rounds thru it so I can start carrying it.

Lately I've carried my S&W Bodyguard everywhere. I have a Glock 19 in my vehicle and by my bedside I have the Glock 19 and a S&W 640 with CT laser grips.

S&W M49 Bodyguard for in town. If I'm going out to the farm I take a Colt Commander in 45ACP or 3913.

I'd really like to find a pocket holster for the Commander or 3913 - Cargo pants and shorts have pockets deep enough, and that's what I've been wearing lately.

Model 60 with bobbed hammer in the right front pocket, where it is right now. If it's not there it's like I forgot to put on my watch or wedding ring, just doesn't feel right.

When I am at home its a Glock 21 with a Briley Barrel. When I am out and about I carry a Steyr M40A1. I know it's a Smith and Wesson forum and I own several Smith's but I like the feel of the Glock and Steyr a little better right now. For the SHTF scenario the 21 will be my primary.

Most often.

For a run just down to the nearby stop 'n rob, this 442 with a hip grip rides in my right Levis' pocket.

For winter wear under a jacket in a strong side holster, this 624 is just the ticket:

At home, it's the one or more of this trio, all in .45 ACP:

Also at home, Joe is my wingman and is always at the ready as a backup:

For serious social work when traveling, this 66-1 rides in a strong side holster or in a day planner look-alike:

This little stinger is my backup gun; I hope I never have to use it in a pucker situation, but it's better than nothing:

I just stopped carrying a CZ82 in 9mm makarov to carry a new S&W model 58 in 41mag w/4'' barrel in nickel for just $699. After looking at the energy numbers i like the 800ft/lbs. the 41mag has. Before i always carried the redhawk in 44mag all the time. Maybe thats why i walk a little tilted to the left now. Before the redhawk's were manufactured it was the super blackhawk in 44mag in a shoulder holster. I just picked up a super blackhawk 44mag w/10 1/2'' barrel and a new shoulder holster to go with it. Just incase i need to reach out and touch something. Just kidding its for bear hunting. I also carried 357mags and 1911's in 45acp and i may go with a colt delta elite in 10mm soon too since its close to a 41mag in performance. But i really like the 41mag S&W. Bill

For home protection its my 140lb female rottie and my new yellow lab puppy with a pink nose. I was told by my dog groomer that dogs with pink noses tend to be out of it at times i said yup he is nuts at times. At 60yo its my last puppy thank god my misses runs with it. But i have to say he is a neighborhood block watcher nothing gets by him at the farm across the street or my next door neighbors houses too, he watches and guards them all. If anything moves he's on it even in the dark.

Well, I changed it up for a while and was draggin' my M&P 360 around. Man, that is a neat little monster.

Depending on the situation:

Typically, my 1911 just because I know it the best and the power doesn't hurt.

If I were knowingly going to experience bad conditions (mud etc) it would be my 686 because it would be more resistant to malfunctions than the auto would be.

If summer clothing means concealment is an issue, it would be my KelTec P11. I don't like that gun at all, but it works and I can hide it wearing shorts and a t-shirt.

For everyday carry its a 642 in Galco pocket holster. By my bed and for road trips its a G17. For working around the farm and in the woods it's a 686 4"
