1968 Model 36. Altamont pearl grips. I carry this instead of a Glock or any other number of guns I own.

She is a beautiful gun and suprisingly accurate once I put some practice into her. I carry Remington 158 LSWCHP +p in her.

Never fails to bring an admiring comment from some of the better learned memebers of the local shooting hole...

I can't help it, have to comment. In my book, it doesn't measure up to a Detective Special for personal carry in that category.

Thanks for the kind remarks. To each their own in regards to a Colt I suppose.

I certainly would not turn one down if I found one at a price I could live with!

My summer carry piece with shorts and tee shirt is a pre Model 36 and my winter carry piece is a Sig P228. Spring and fall I switch based on what I'm wearing.

......there's one in every crowd aint there??

Nice looking piece, I don't blame you for being proud of er.;)

Great little pistola. I don't carry, but if I did that would be the one that went with me.

At first I couldn't hit **** with it. After spending alittle more time with it though, it's the most instintive thing I shoot. *pick it up, point , bang*

Always close enough to be in the center of that zombie comming at me :D

Very nice M36. I have a M36 no dash, that is my summer carry. I have it with me now. Nice, no nonsense piece. Congrats, that is a fine Smith.

In my book your comment was rude and an ill-advised reply to someone proudly sharing with us his personal carry weapon. :(

No Quarter, that is one nice looking carry piece. :)

^^^^ I agree ^^^^
Nice piece No Quarter! I owned a 36 in the past, sold it, kicked myself, and have just recently bought one from another forum member. I'm patiently waiting for it to arrive and it will also become my new best carrier!

No Quarter, nice looking 36, very nice condition. I like the looks of those pearls, too... I like the photo, as well, looks great! I've got a nice no-dash, with the flat latch and diamond grips, and really love that gun.

As for Armyphotogs comments, give the guy a break, he was just stating his opinion, and that's what we do on this forum. In my book, his tone was not mean spirited, just direct. Sure, it was a bit of a buzz kill for the OP, but again, I don't think it was a mean, or nasty comment. Could have been said a little better, but we're not all perfect, so how about a little slack...?

In thinking about the comparison, if I had to pick one over the other, for carry, I'd have to say the DS would be my choice, as well. I like the extra round, and feel of the grip... That being said, nothing wrong with the 36 for a carry piece, has worked for lots and lots of folks. Again, nice looking piece No Quarter.

I can't afford a Colt and don't desire and overpriced overly pretty revolver I would be to scared to carry anyway.

Beautiful gun, keep it up!

Nice looking practical carry piece.

Refreshing to see a gun photo without any 'tactical' gear, switchblade knives or a Rolex.

In my old age, I enjoy front pocket carry of a 642 or 442.

Nice looking gun. Gotta love those J frames. My constant companion is a model 37 no dash. They really disappear in your pocket. I think five shots are enough. Can I have those grips? Please, pretty please with sugar on it?
Happy shooting sir,
Gordon
