What has happened to men's jeans

Has any one else noticed that on most new pants, jeans or other wise, that the zippers have gotten much shorter?

It just depends on which style/cut you buy. Levis, Wrangler, Carhartt, LL Bean, and many store brands offer different rises and fits. Fashion jeans usually are low rise/slim fit. Some jeans are preshrunk others are shrink to fit. When I was young I wore Levi's 519 Boot Cut 34 x 32 and they formed perfectly around my buns of steel. Thirty odd years down the road I keep an assortment of Levi's 550s, 505s in 34x32 and 36x32, Also Wrangler Rugged Wear big butt and Wrangler Cowboy Cut in 34,35,36x32. A Wrangler Cowboy Cut in 36X32 shrinks down tighter than preshrunk Levi's 505s in 34x32. I find that a good fit for my pudge of the day is what makes me look good and feel comfortable. I like full seat and thighs, a waist that sits a bit high, and I'll only wear shrink to fit when I'm sure excess body mass will not ooze out of the pants.

I quit wearing Levis when they started being made outside the USA with a lighter fabric by people who don't speak English and who don't pay taxes to the American government.

I've been a Wranglers fan, for the most part, for the last 45 years. Their traditional style, 13MWZ, has always seemed to fit. In fact, I'm wearing a pair now. And they're made in the USA.

They may be made in the US, but odds are they're made by people who don't speak English.

I remember when Levi's were so thick, stiff and so starched, they would literally stand up by themselves!

My Mom used to have me break in a pair of Levi's by wearing a pair of for a week, then soak them overnight in the washer with 2X the normal fabric softener and Tide and then wash them. That is when they were comfortable and wore for 2+ years!

Carpenter cut Dickey's or Wranglers. They fit over work boots, something a lot of today's kids wouldn't understand.
