Ok,
Just to see what happens and who thinks like a lawyer.
I live here on the wrong side of the iron curtain in NJ. Hollow Points are illegal to have in your gun in your house or for anywhere else except at the range.
So what do you think, the plastic tips on some rounds would seem to not be 'hollow' points. I mean nothing says it has to have metal all the way to the end.

I think you should emmigrate from New Jersey to the United States. We don't have those problems in the Land of the Free. ;)

Seems like a valid argument. If the wording of the tyrannical "law" is "hollowpoints" I think I'd find expanding FMJ or softpoints.

Agreed. I would personally feel more comfortable using expandable FMJ's Federal Premium - Handgun Details which are even marketed as an FMJ, yet act like a HP upon impact, than using say a pow'r'ball or FTX type ammo. I have a feeling that actually having the full metal jacket may save you a lot of grief if you were to ever encounter a snooping LEO. After all, it is called an expanding full metal jacket where as the others are referred to as a polymer tipped HOLLOW POINT. Safer IMHO to go with an entirely different design, EFMJ, than starting with a HP and stuffing the cavity with something.

Just my .02
