I have read a lot of history about brutal governments and how the civilan population was treated from Vietnam to Sierra leone. When civilans were recruited for brutal dictators they used tactics that most of us would find almost unbelievable. In Sierra Leone, the West Side Boys would come into a village and make children shoot their parents and then the children were brutailzed and tramitized and forced into their army. Daughters were raped infront of their parents and then killed or "married" by the thugs. Hands and limbes were cut off of civilans...just to terrorize them.
In Vietnam the VC would come into a village and brutally kill the village chief..then take the young men and force them into their Army...they did many brutal things to innocent civilans that the average US citizen can not imagine.
How do these brutal regimes get away with this? Its very simple....the population do not have the means to defend themselves. They have no arms or ammo and they are victims of the brutal slaughter of these sick sub human beings.
This will never happen in the US.....as long as we have the ability to stand up to thugs, criminals and those that would harm our family. Picture someone coming into your home and rapeing your wife, daughter....and yes son...age means nothing to them. Gentlemen...there are things that can happen to you that are far worse than death...and that is seeing the ones you love brutalized. If anyone has the time...read the book Operation Certain Death...(by Damien Lewis)..it is an eye opener as to what can happen to a defenceless population. I would like to believe it could never happen here.....I am sure the people of Germany could not picture what Hitler did to their country and how brutal he and his supporters were.
This is more than just losing our guns...its about losing our very freedom and our way of life and becoming defenceless sheep. I will keep my semi-auto Ar-15's and high capicity magazines. I have never threatened or harmed another person and I have no intention of ever doing that. I also have no intention of letting anyone harm my family and the ones I care about. Loss of freedom and the ability to defend yourself and more importantly your loved ones against brutality is far more important to me than my life on this earth. An armed population will never have to face a situtation like Rewanda or Sierra Leone....where the UN could not and would not protect the villages from brutality.
We are in a battle for our very freedom and the American way of life. We have millions of freedom loving citizens on our side that can not be disarmed by anyone......we have the largest armed citizen army in the world. Giving up our guns will not stop the mentally unbalanced from killing innocent children in a school (we do have the ability to stop that also) but it can lead to a situtation such as germany experienced in WW2, or Rewanda, or Sierra Leone and there are so many more that I could mention...the danger is real. We need to support the NRA and band together like the a band of brothers with a very strong voice. We are not the enemy of anyone....but the thugs that would control us with terror and brutality if they ever get the opportunity. We need to stand firm as a rock and our rights are not negotiable. "Not to be infringed" means just that...we need to be as well armed as any dictator or thug that thinks they can control us. The founding fathers wrote the second ammendment for a very good reason.
