Charleston SC here and my local gun store is selling it for 3.99 a box but limit of one a day, walked into Walmart yesterday and got a thousand rounds for 28.26 and 2 100 round shorts for 7.96 a box.
The 1000 rounds are Winchester and the shorts are CCI but I check for ammo there 3 to 4 times a week and this is the first I have seen at Walmart in 2 months.

On a recent trip to Academy I got lucky as they were just stocking the shelves. CCI standard velocity was $4.99 for 50 rounds. CCI Stingers was $9.99 for 50 rounds. A week later got lucky there again and found CCI Mini-mags for $11.99 for 100 rounds. 5:00 am one morning two weeks ago I checked the CCI website and was able to order 500 rounds of standard velocity for $39.90 and 50 round boxes of Velocitor for $9.99.
No shipping charge with $100 order but they have a 2-3 week shipping delay.

I have seen bulk 500 round boxes sell 200.00 to 250.00,50 round boxes at 20.00 at auctions. Why anybody would pay those prices is beyond me

Finding it is hit or miss these days. The local farm store chain sells their 50 ct boxes of Aguila for $3.29 when they have them. Occasionally the big box chain store has some, sold at pre-pandemic prices. A smaller multi-state sporting goods chain has some most every week. Depending on product, they will go for 7 to 10 cents a round.

All three mentioned limit purchase to 2-3 boxes per day per customer.

The .22 LR that is most available in my area is Aguila. Price is about $6/50 or $50/500 in a "big box" store (Dunhams, Cabelas). Occasionally I see CCI Mini Mags, usually for around $10/100.
