For me its a pristine Mannlicher-Shoenauer 1903 mountain carbine in 6.5X54. Missed one at auction a few years back when I was feeling a bit financially embarrassed. They were advertised "Fur das Alpine Jaeger"; they are light, fast handling, with a cartridge akin a 30-30 on steroids.

I have always wanted a Winchester Model 52 Sporter .22 bolt action rifle. However I've watched the prices climb over the years to the point that I would need to pay several thousand $$ for one in nice condition . A very nice rifle but worth way more than I could justify paying.

At one time I owned many of the guns listed. Problem was, once obtained I came up with another want. My grail guns changed as quickly as the Nazi enigma machine, daily. Far from rich I traded them in on the next want. Pawn shop REM 30s fifty bucks. AH fox 16 gauge 2bbl set 150 bucks. Pre divorce I had 5 AHFoxs, 6 Parker’s, Cogswell & Harrison 375HH, 10 M 70s, a bunch of M12s and many revolvers like early 29s. Al of these were found hitting small gunshots or pawn shops and gun shows.

Now as I am staring the age of 75 in the face I sold most of my post divorce collection. Still have rifles, 4 Kimbers, 2 SWs k22 and a no dash 66, kimber target match 1911, colt over an Essex frame that is a super shooter, Dads Ruger SS 4.75 3 screw and more

My only got to have it gun was a Kimber made in Yonkers 22lr. Found one last fall. And a Kimber Montana in 243. Dropped a nice buck at 360 yards with it. So my last 2 wants have been satisfied very well.

Marlin 336, pre-safety in 30-30 or 35 Rem.
Now it seems that I may be too late. Prices on pre-safety Marlin lever guns is going nuts.
Time to hit the pawn shops and start looking for one that slipped through the cracks or I won’t ever have one.

Well my wanted revolver i haven’t bought yet,

S&W m29-10 44 mg/6.5” nickel

The Klingon hole doesn’t matter it’s still a s&w. Probably my last gun purchase.

well I have a 125th anniversary Colt SAA in 45 Colt
so I want a S&W 125th anniversary Model 25 in 45 Colt
and a JM Marlin 1894 in 45 colt to go with them

I also have a Marlin 1897, with half octagon barrel, half length magazine and checkered pistol grip stock, so I want the 100th anniversary Marlin 1897 as well, ......... oh and a 38 S&W with a "V" on the bottom of the grip frame

3" J-frame, pre Hillary hole preferable, preferably blued. Had a super nice Square butt model, should have kept it - But I may get a modern Model 60

Vintage blued .22lr revolver snubnose

Colt Detective special in decent shape

Smith and Wesson governor or Taurus Judge

SVT40

I have been slowly wittling away at my want list for years, it keeps getting shorter, then adding another :)

I am fortunate in that I have fulfilled all my gun wishes over the last 20 years. With a passion for custom single action revolvers that has been my area of focus. In fact, I just recently started letting some of these guns go to new owners so someone else can enjoy them.

I started this with pretty much the same attitude as biku324. On further reflection, finding a Savage 99 in .300 (I've had a .250, a .243 and multiple .308s), a Ruger #3 in .30-40 (had .22 Hornet and .45-70) or a #1 International in 7x57 at a price I could afford would be a treat, but none have been a quest.

EMPI, about 25 years ago, bought a Win 52 (B?) in .22, new, put a 4 power scope on it, still have the box and manual, and it will shoot CCI MiniMag at 100m yards in a one inch circle. $500 or so as I recall. They really are a superb .22 target rifle. Plus, they really look nice, too. They do see to rather costly nowadays. SF VET

Henry Golden Boy .22 lever rifle (to go with my "Big Boy" 44mag.)
29 or 629 4" (not a need, just a want since my 69 serves just fine.
K-22 Outdoorsman, 4"
