I agree with GDNagle and CajunLawyer, mine is a toy also. Plus I think someday AR style rifles may be banned so I wanted to get one I could use for hunting if I ever start again.
Mainly I just take mine to the range and shoot with friends for the sheer joy of it.
I leave the home protection to the alarm system, dogs, spears, throwing knives, swords, baseball bats, golf clubs, throwing axes, and anything else that's at hand if the need arises.
