what is your fav. J frame snubby holster

Pocket carry for my j-frames. Depending on the pocket shape and size the holster is a Mika round, Mika square or Uncle Mike's. DM Bullard's leather pocket holster adds a bit of retention for my around the house warm-up's and pj's.

Great thread;

What I didn't see mentioned here were ankle holsters and surely I can't be the only one that uses one. I have come to rely on my Renegade cozy partner ankle holster. I have tried just about every affordable one on the market and since 1999 have been using the same Renegade I paid 50.00 for. When not ankle carrying I use a mixture of Mika pocket holsters or a local leather maker pocket holster, as another poster stated it really depends on my method of dress as to which pocket holster that I use. I also have a Galco IWB that is popular.

I am stating the obvious here but in almost 20 years of carrying a gun every day I haven't found a more accessible, adaptable and RELIABLE platform than a 5 shot j-frame.

One thing to add, I own several j-frames in different barrel lengths, weights, metals and cost. My most used and favorite is a 637-2 airweight chief special that I paid 120.00 LNIB. I had the hammer spur removed and put a set if vintage diamond RB wood grips on it with a Tyler T grip and it all but disappears in any holster it is in.

My Galco SOB. It is the most comfortable holster for any gun I have ever used.

I am looking for one for my Glock 26 now.

Try this Barami Hip Grip. It makes your j-frame disappear and you forget it's there. I'm wearing my j-frame now, sitting in my LazyBoy. I've used these for 30 years or more. They're cheap at around $25. I have three or four sets of these grips. Have never broken one. They are great.

The round style fits both round bottom and square pockets. It's the one I use the most. The square style holds the weapon more upright in square and/or oversize pockets.

Robert Mika said a round bottom will work in both styles of pocket, the square doesn't work well in round pockets.

Makes sense.

Check your pockets and see what you need. Mika's holsters are inexpensive enough to get both.

When I had mine, and after next week when I get another one, I use a pocket holster or a Galco tuckable.

OWB- Galco Concealable
IWB- Galco Stow-N-Go
Stealth- Smart Carry

My Model 60 often resides in a leather Galco pocket holster; however, I recently broke out my Bianchi 9R Agent upside-down shoulder holster, and have been using it almost exclusively for the last few weeks. It is far more accessible if sitting or driving, and is still comfortable.
