What is Your Favorite Dessert ?

Nobody has ever come close to making a huckleberry pie like my grandma used to. Pie would be my all time favorite dessert and I lean towards any kind of berry, then mince meat, raisen, cherry...no ice cream or fluffy stuff, no cheese or sauce, although I did have some hard sauce poured over a homemade mince meat pie once that was pretty hard to beat. My granddad never cared for punkin pie, there was always a real venison mince meat pie for him, I was the only other beneficiary of his taste in pie. You can put just about any fruit in a pie shell and make it pretty tasty, the other pudding fillings are OK. My wife made a chocolate pie once that must have had three or four bars of semi sweet chocolate in the whole pie, it was in the crust, in the filling and sprinkled over whatever covered the thing, it was dangerous good.

I only like three kinds of pie...hot pie, cold pie, and pie ala mode..............................and cobbler.

Just pretend this is witty.

It's been years since I've had huckleberry pie. I used to pick a BUNCH up behind my Aunt Florence's place, but then she moved to town. :(

Bread Pudding with whiskey sauce at the Bon Ton cafe in N.O. in the 80's. Don't know if the Bon Ton is still there?
Have had other places add whiskey to the sauce over bread pudding, but wasn't anywhere near as good, but the whiskey did improve it. No good bread pudding in Iowa found yet.
Lemon meringue pie is good, chocolate meringue pie is good!
DESSERT is good!!!

Glad to see 2 other votes for Bread pudding! I think this place is where the recipe I had was from and it was the absolute best! Has to have the whiskey sauce too. Tried other varieties but just not the same.... Good breadpudding with whiskey sauce is really hard to beat!

MUD PIE, the chart house in Redondo Beach, ca used to make THE best. It was a cookie crust bottom, coffee ice crème, chocolate covered and then carmel coated with lots of nuts on top. When I made journeyman electrician we bought 3 of them and had a real party at home!

As far as pies go, cherry would be my first choice. I also have some cheesecake recipes that are amazing. When I make them it's hard to decide which one I really want. Then again, I generally won't turn down any dessert that's offered. When I go on cruises I often order more than one if they look appealing to me. I'm bad that way.

I have a philosophy about food in general. Life is too short to force yourself to eat all the so-called "healthy" food choices. I drink whole milk, eat real butter and wouldn't touch Tofu even if I were paid to do so. Bacon and chocolate are both major food groups and should be consumed on a regular basis. Full fat cheeses are the best and prime beef should be the only kind consumed. I'm 70 years old now and hope to live to 100. If I don't, I'll at least go out happy!

I dont really have a favorite dessert per se, But lately I've been craving those chocolate chip ice cream cookies with the M&M's on them...
