What is your favorite motto??

Surprised I haven't seen this one:
"Even a poorly conceived plan, executed with vigor and determination, is far better than no plan at all."
(trust me, folks- this one will usually carry the day)

I thought the ending to that one was, "... is better than a perfect plan executed one second too late."
I have heard that variant, but it does not stick with me as well as my version.
I learned my version from people very intent on teaching me to take some action without spending time even considering perfection. It was painted on a wall I often observed- under "extreme duress". ;)

IIRC Patton's version was:
"A good plan, executed violently today, is better than a perfect plan next week."

Don't spend all your money on women, drink and shotguns. Save some to spend foolishly. (Anon)

"A gentleman seldom if ever needs a pistol, but when he does, he needs it very badly." (Sir Winston Churchill)

"Extremism in the defense of liberty is no vice. ... Moderation in the pursuit of justice is no virtue." (Barry Goldwater)

These came to mind...

"A good judge of a man's character is how he treats someone who can do nothing for him."

Along those same lines is "Never marry a woman who is mean to a waitress".

"Woman, look at how your future husband treats his mother. You're next"

"People sleep peaceably in their beds at night only because rough men stand ready to do violence on their behalf" - George Orwell

"The first thing we do, let's kill all the lawyers" - William Shakespeare

"Never argue with idiots. People may not know the difference" Mark Twain, IIRC

"Clothes make the man. Naked people have no influence in society". Mark Twain

"Some people are proof condoms only work 99% of the time". Me

"If you break into my house, you better be able to run faster than 900 fps"..me

"Most people are only alive because it's illegal to kill them"..bumper sticker

"Ted Kennedy 2008...a blonde in every pond"....crude bumper sticker seen at a gun show
