What is your favorite single stack 9mm?

Two weeks ago I would have said a tie between my 39-2 and Sig P6. Then I bought a new Colt Government Competition in 9mm. I've only put one box of ammo through it so far....but it could be the winner. I mean it's a 1911, has a great trigger and looks wonderful (it replaced a Star Super B).

The plan is for that Colt to be my next favorite!

Very difficult for me to choose. Of the pistols already mentioned I have some experience with three I really enjoyed. The P7M8 had a really sweet trigger, the P08 with an awful looking bore was surprisingly accurate and the P210-5 was just awesome.

I really enjoyed them all. Didn't fancy the Star or Llama pistols I tried and would really like to try the Sig P225 and P239.

For everyday concealed carry..... it's my 3913NL with checkered Hogue wood grips and flush fit 7rd magazine..............

But I really like my Beretta 92 Compact Type M ...8+1 , 4.25inch barrel/slide.....

For some reason Smith 39s and a Sig 225 have come and gone but the 3913/14s and 92 Type Ms have multiplied..................

39-2

No handgun feels as natural in my hand. One is in the nightstand right now loaded with 115 JHP +P+s.

If we were JUST talking "looks" I would say the Model 39.
But all things considered, I say the S&W Shield 9mm - hands down.

My favorites? Honestly, the only two I own. Like them equally well.

A pristine 908s and a beat to hell, cosmetically challenged 909.

Never had a hiccup with either. Both fit the same holster. Honestly, I'd have to say the 909 is my all purpose go to gun. One more ding or one hundred more dings won't harm its perfectly imperfect finish.

I really prefer a polished blue, but man, that coating, along with those stocks, that is a good lookin' gun!
That be true! :D Look at those classic lines without the distraction of fingerprints and reflections. I'm not a coatings kind of guy but that look (and especially with those grips) is amazing! :)

In over 50 years of shooting for fun, competition, self defense and duty I never owned a 9mm.

Then last Saturday at a gun show in Texas I bought a nice condition 39-2 with 2 mags.

At 10 yds it shoots clover leafs;out to 50' it's 1 1/2" groups with Walmart Perfecta 9mm ammo.

I bought a few extra factory mags and recoil springs but can't find a spare barrel yet.

My first was response was going to be our M&P Shield but then I remembered I had this one in the safe. If you have a nice P-08 in the safe it is hard to say it isn't your favorite single stack 9mm.

I'm not sure if this counts. It is a semi auto but not usually loaded with a mag. I always liked Mauser C96

Nope, it has a staggered (internal) magazine, much like a Kar98.
