Can someone tell me what is "mexican" carry??? And why is it called that.
I saw it mentioned here on other threads.

I don't like Mexican carry, but this combination is about the only exception I'd make.

I was curious about the origination of the term so I did a quick Google search. I found this article:

Summary: The term came from 19th-century Mexican vaqueros who were disarmed by the government. They didn't want to be disarmed, so instead of wearing their gunbelts and attract unwanted attention they carried their guns in their waistbands.

"Mexican carry" was what us old men did before it was legal to conceal. Not hard to hide a gun without a holster. Use Barami grips on a revolver. a belt hook on a Colt 1911, and on a single action open the loading gate to keep it from falling down your pants leg. Larry
