I have recently began using BOESHIELD T-9 it was recommended by a gun dealer, developed by Boeing, provideds rust protection, lubrication and prevents finger print damage. Sold by upscale gun dealers for about $13 bucks or you can find a dealer online.

I Use Mobile One 15w40 full synthetic... and for grease it lucs oil products "red and tacky" wheel bearing grease doesnt migrate and stays thick bottle or eacxh is a lifetime of lube :0

I've been using a sample bottle of Weapon Shield. After I finish it I will probably refill it with Moble 1 or something like that. . .

Dex III or better yet Dex VI.

I was using Mobil-1 full synthetic oil for years but have become convinced that Dexron is better. As good or better than boutique gun oils that are extremely expensive which come in bottles that are measured in milliliters.

For long-term storage I still think that good 'ol RIG (if you can find some) is wonderful.

For wipe-down on external blued surfaces, I just use Ed's Red without the acetone as a general rust preventative, as per Ed's suggestion. Dex III, Mineral Spirits, and Kerosene. Doesn't futz with wood and just plain works.

Breakfree, Hoppes, and Lucas Gun Oil. I have not used motor oil, but the thought has not been thrown out of the window for future use. I am on the lookout for a good grease though. I see "moly" grease used a lot on these forums but have yet to find a gun moly grease. I have heard wheel bearing grease but not sure if I am going to lay the grease gun to my firearm just yet.

I been using a oil made by "G96" large can works rather good for lube and smells good also, great for storage, used it on hunting shotguns great for protection from cold to room temp with out any type of rust or freckling appearing over the last 3 years.
about 8.00 per can, and it goes a long way.

Interesting ideas. We're all wanting our guns to work perfectly and last forever.

Many have used Hoppes products for generations. Others have exerimented with more modern lubricants, motor oils, transmission oils, graphite, teflon, molybdenum. Somehow they all work and that's good.

For grease I use white lithium. I found a lifetime supply at Sears.
For dry lube I use graphite with moly found at Hobby Lobby.
For gun oil I use either Hoppes or Remington Oil. Any gun shop.

A clean gun is a happy gun.

lubricate

I prefer Quantum Hot Sauce. It works great on my fishing reels and doesn't wear so I figured I'd try it on my guns. It works better than Snail Snot (an old military mixture of LSA oil and STP).
