My wife found them at a garage sale. The lady told her they were not real. My wife begged to differ. The lady told her to take them. I have no idea what kind of rounds they are. I'm sure someone here will know.

Do not attempt to "trim" or cut the cases down for reloading purposes. The brass cases are thicker that M80 ball, National Match, or Long Range cases.

They are designed to use less powder but, provide enough pressure to work the action of an M-60 machine gun for training purposes. They do make a nice display for a gun room.

Back around May 1965 there was an "Armed Forces Day" exibition at the Earle Naval Ammunition Depot in Monmouth NJ. Started out with an infantry skirmish across the road. Pretty intense until the M60 tanks rolled out of the trees and started letting loose with 105mm blanks. Women and children and some guys suddenly went running in the opposite direction into a large open field. Just then about a dozen Chinook helicopters landed behind them. About 100 paratroopers, guys blasting away M14's with those blanks ran through the crowd on their way to the objective "enemy command post." Pitched battle, flash bangs going off everywhere until the finale, a tank of gasoline with a large explosive charge in the center of it to simulate a nuclear explosion. Perfect mushroom cloud. Loved every minute of it. Many women sobbing uncontrollably while I picked up the spent blank brass. 56 years ago and i remember it like it was yeaterday. Joe
