Was recently told to use a lube on the rails of my 3913 to reduce wear to the alloy frame. Any suggestions as to which one would be the best choice?

I use FP-10 and like it. Any good quality oil should be fine. You should lube the barrel hood and the muzzle of the slide/barrel fit.
I have been using oil for years on alloy frame S&W pistols and alloy frame 1911's and it seems to work very well. It also depends on your conditions. Grease in very cold weather or dusty conditions may not be good.Have always used CLP, but recently switched to EEZOX I like the product, but am being told that lube on the alloy frames is a much better choice than oil. reduces galling, less wear, etc.
Any truth to this?
