Looks to be in decent shape, I know it's a .38.

Also, I know this isn't an S&W and it's probably heresy to post here, so I apologize in advance.

On the revolver look on the frame under the crane when you open the cylinder. First guess is a 10-6.

Those Remington 51's are considered my many to be the most ergonomically correct small semi auto. Classic little guns.

Will do...will be looking at both in the next couple days. Thanks guys.

What's a fair price for each assuming they're in good shape? I'm sure there's a bit of finish wear on each but I'm told no rust and both are 100% functionally.

An interesting thing about the Remington 51 is it's generally considered to have the best handfitting gripframe of any magazine fed pistol.

Oops! look like somebody already mentioned that. Once again I'm the Department of Redundancy Department!

Star pretty much copied the Remington M-51 handle on some of their .380's.

They do feel great in the hand.

What's a fair price for buyer and seller on the .38 if it's say, 95%? Seeing tonight and want to have an idea if possible.

I'm not sure I'd call that 95%. On my personal scale it looks in fair-good condition. For me that's used, carried, and finish worn, but mechanically sound and tight. I.E. not abused (broken, bent, dropped, screws buggered, rusted, loose, etc). There literally are a zillion of these model 10 heavy barrel revolvers floating around, and most are in the condition in the photo. Looks like a typical ex cop's or security guard's gun. Face to face should be under 300. Say between 200 and 300. In a shop or on consignment around me they'd likely put a 350 price on it and settle for 325-300; the consignee would receive 275-250. If my dealer were buying it outright they'd offer 200 tops.

General Patton favored the Model 51 Remington. My understanding is that he had the factory refurbish one for him toward the end of the war - the pistol was out of production by then. Patton's pistol had stars inlaid into a dark wood grip.
