What model is this revolver?

I am new to the forums and just came by this revolver and I am trying to figure out what model it is. From doing initial research I think it is a model 14, but it has no model number marked on it. I am assuming the SN is the number that starts with a K?

Any help is appreciated.

Welcome to the Forum. Got the ID on the first try!

From the K 829000 SN, it likely shipped in 1968. It "should" have been stamped MOD 14-3 under the SN in your photo, but omissions like this are fairly common. Hope this is helpful.

The revolver was also sent back to S&W twice for repair and/or refinish (as indicated by the R-S inside a rectangle stamped on the grip frame). The dates are April 1970 and November 1975. R-S indicates a standard refinish.

Model 14's are great shooters and usually very accurate.

Somebody loved shooting that particuar revolver if he sent it back to S&W twice for refininshing.
