What movies have you watched many times through the years ?

Star Wars

Lately The Terminator has been edging up. Mainly because I made a mistake when ripping it for my video library. I have the old original DVD with the mono sound track and a new 'special edition' with cleaned up video but a nerfed sound track. Turns out the SE actually has both the original and nerfed sound tracks. So I had to re-rip with the correct one. Did a lot of A vs B comparison to make sure I had it right.

....in 'Second Hand Lions' is a real gem.

Probably my wife's favorite movie. She has watched it many times; me, not so much. Ours is on VHS. I never got around to copying it to a DVD. Yes, I still have a VHS player (actually two) and quite a few feature films originally recorded on VHS, some of which I have copied to DVD. She also dislikes all war movies with one notable exception - The Dirty Dozen. Go figure.

1. Rancho Deluxe, most quotable movie ever.
2. All the rest.
Eastwood:
The Outlaw Josey Wales
Unforgiven.
Obviously plenty of others, but these are the top two for me.
Coen Brothers:
Fargo, coz I am from Minnesota
Miller's Crossing, for the Carter Burwell score and everything else.
Chinatown
Maltese Falcon
Body Heat
Pulp Fiction.
There are more, but that's enough for now.

1. "The Wild Bunch
2. "The Get Away"
3. "Pat Garret and Billy The Kid"
4. "Fistful Of Dollars"
5. "For a Few Dollars More"
6. "The Good,The Bad, The Ugly
7."Enter The Dragon"
8." 36th Chamber Of Shaolin"

Scrolling through this thread I see a number of good movies I've seen more than a couple of times, but for me it seems at least once or twice a year I fix a bowl of microwave popcorn and a glass of ice cold Mountain Dew and pull out my VHS tape of Rough Riders staring Tom Berenger.

A great many. A few we have watched the last couple or so:

You Can't Take It With You.
Father Goose.
Bringing Up Baby.
Operation Petticoat.

On more a comedic kick lately.

I saw "Kelly's Heroes" over 8 times in the theater alone. There was a $2 place not too far from school, and my friends and I would go over and watch the double features there a lot. "Kelly's Heroes" was the newer movie the first 3 or 4 times, but was knocked down to the second feature later on. I saw "Vanishing Point", and KH as a double feature at least twice.

Ones that always get me to watch:

The Godfather I and II.
Emperor of the North Pole.
The Getaway, perfect casting, except for (IMHO) the awful Ali McGraw.
Mr. Majestyk
Scarface.
Aliens
Terminator I and II
The 7 Ups.
Jaws 1
Predator
Star Trek 2, 4, and 6.
The Empire Strikes Back.
McQ, John Wayne isn't my favorite, but that Trans Am he drives is!
Kelly's Heroes, of course.
Die Hard 1 and 2
The Good, The Bad, and The Ugly.
Once Upon A Time In The West.
The Wild Bunch.
Animal House.

And I can't resist watching and goofing on "Dune" from 1984. I can't let it go, I have to watch it and it's so bad it amuses the hell out of me. The new one is much better, but like the book, it takes itself way too seriously. Another one I can't resist is "Heaven's Gate". I saw it opening day, what a stinker, but I have to watch it. A local station had it on in the middle of the night a couple of years ago. It wasn't listed on my channel guide, but there it was in all of it's underexposed "glory". And of course, "The Exorcist II:The Heretic", hands down the best time I ever had at the movies, the audience heckled the movie and my stomach hurt for a week from laughing at the comments. The one they claim is the "Original Cut" is NOT the same one I saw opening day. They cut a lot of the best (Worst) stuff out. My friend John and I laughed at the first "Exorcist" to the point people were looking at us like we were crazy. We just thought it was ridiculous.

No shortage of great flicks posted above that I will watch over and over again. One I don't believe was listed is "August Rush".
