I've got a Performance Center M&P15 but I don't like the trigger. Too much creep, etc.

I've been looking online at triggers and they specify maybe a 3 1/2 pound pull; 4 pound pull; etc.

That's pretty light for the field, IMO.

Might one of you recommend a replacement trigger?

If you feel a 3.5-4lb trigger is too light, get a two stage replacement trigger. Depending on how it's set up, you can have a total pull of 4.5-5lbs and it will appear much lighter because you achieve the total pull in two stages.

I keep my field type bolt guns at 3lbs and AR's at 4.5, simply because I believe my marksmanship is better if I don't have to get used to different triggers on each individual rifle. I like 4.5lbs on AR's because I used to shoot competition and that was the required pull.

I got a 4lb single stage Wilson Combat TTU.

Wilson rates it for Duty, Competition and Hunting. I think they nailed the compromise as good as it gets.

The triggers they rate only Duty are 5-5.75lb and 4.5-5lb.

Nice to see someone with a conservative approach to trigger weight. Refreshing change of pace. Have you contacted the PC about the trigger quality? Worth a try and cheaper than changing things out.

Rock River has a trigger kit that's supposed to go 4.5-5 lbs. Geissle has triggers in several weight specs.

The range of service acceptable AR triggers is 5-8.5 lbs. I sure wouldn't want 7ish lbs, but I don't find the lower end of the range to be a severe handicap.

I think the 4 or 4.5 pound trigger is the best compromise for field and range work. Right now, my MVP is pulling at 3 pounds and I don't like it. To me, it's almost like I'm just touching the trigger to get the rifle to fire. I need to adjust the pull weight up on it as a result.

On my rifle, I have a Geissele SSA, a very nice two stage trigger. On my son's AR, the stocker (delton lower) was ultra gritty and inconsistent. I slapped an ALG Defense QMS (quality mil spec) trigger in there and it is NIGHT and DAY better. It is what a mil spec trigger should be.

Don't get me wrong, it is not as nice as the SSA, and I won't be trading, but the QMS is a very nice trigger that costs 1/5 what my SSA ran. My son loves it (and he hated the stock trigger).

I'm loving my RRA NM Varmint triggers, all are 3.5 lbs. If that's to light for you, I wouldn't hesitate to grab the RRA NM 2 stage as mentioned, rated at 4-4.5 lbs.

These can be bought for ~75 bucks easy

I forgot to say that the climate is generally mild here in Tennessee. If I lived up north and did more gloved shooting I'd have a heavier trigger.

I put a 4lb Timney trigger in my M&P Sport with the 8R barrel. Love that trigger and worth every cent it cost me! I'm a single stage trigger guy myself!!:)
