What revolver have you had the longest?

Here are the revolvers I've owned the longest. These two M1950 (44 Hand Ejector 4th Model Target) revolvers followed me home on the same day in 1973.:D

In 1980, I was in college and bought a Dan Wesson 15-2H6. Less than a year later, my parents found out and I had a choice get rid of the gun or move. I sold the gun to my brother who had his own home. In 1982, I bought another Dan Wesson 15-2H6, I still have that one.

Around 1998, I got the original Dan Wesson back from my brother.

My daily carry piece in college was a Walther PP that I bought in '82. I still have that one as well.

Does my approximately 1957-8 Matel Fanner 50's count. I haven't seen them in 30 years but I know they are in the attic with the rest of my childhood treasures.

My brother got a Fanner 50 for Christmas in 1963 or 64. I now have that cap gun.

I have a Ruger Super Single Six, 22-22magnum. My Dad bought it for me in 1969. I still have it and it is still very accurate. I would guess this little gun has had several thousand rounds run through it, never a problem, the blueing is a little worn, and the butt has a couple dings in it (used it as hammer on a knife on a javelina's pelvic bone, when I was young and dumb). It's one of my guns that I'll never get rid of.

I got it way back in the 90's

OUCH! :D

Unfortunately, "way back" in the '90s would be my longest owned, also. An incredibly smooth, well used Model 19 in 2" barrel.

I say "unfortunately"... I'd rather say it was a beauty of a classic 4" Model 19 which I bought at 21 in 1972, but that one got stolen along the years.

M-19-3 bought in 1981 for $200

Has gone everywhere with me even into combat......just cant tell you where and when (classified) but its a keeper. I did some reloading and fired some really hot rounds and lots of 110gn and 158gn and never had a problem with the forcing cone. It has a reworked trigger so its butter smooth and kinda too light for a new shooter (Im used to it) its my most accurate range gun

4" model 10-5 I bought in 1976. I bought it at Montgomery Wards, where I was working. With the employee discount I paid about $110. About 2 weeks after the purchase I was offered a job at the S.O. I carried the m10 on duty for about 6 mos. until my issued m66 came in. It would be the last gun I would ever part with.

The second most important gun to me is this 19-6 that was a gift from my wife when I made detective. I carried it on duty, in the Major Crimes Unit, for 6-9 months until I was issued a dept 2 1/2" m19.

My dad purchased this Model 36 in late 1968 and used it for self protection on his job for about 18 years. He gave it to me for my 21st birthday and the Chief's Special is my favorite memento of my dad . It doesn't see holster or pocket duty anymore, but it does get a yearly range trip.

My Ruger Blackhawk .357/9mm convertible. I actually bought the convertible model because I was handloading for an aluminum framed Star 9mm I had at the time and used the Blackhawk as a test gun for my handloads to make sure they weren't too hot. No combat stories for it but, using snake shot, it has dispatched two copperheads found in the yard. As shown in the picture, it now wears a pair of Esmerelda cocobolo stocks.

That would be my 6" 686-1 that I bought new in 1984 AFTER my 6" 586 no dash, bought in 1983ish (VA Beach), was stolen. I have since replaced the 586 w/ an exact duplicate but that is the only thing I've ever had stolen from me and it still leaves a hole...

At the moment, the 686 is the one gun that if I had just "one shot" to win it all, I'd use.

And if you see this one some where down the road, I have the box, docs, tools, receipt and original grips for it!

My 2 1/2 Model 66-2 I bought new in 1983 as my plain clothes gun, still have it and it's still one of my go to guns. I've also got the 17-4 my dad gave me in the mid 80's, neither one are going anywhere while I'm around...

Ruger GF32 "made in the 200th year of american Liberty" police service six 357mag 2 3/4" barrel in stainless. It was never in the catalog. I've had it since 1976.

Oldest & dearist friends

My 2 oldest revolvers are a S&W pre model 10 M&P 4" a neighbor gave me for getting there mail one summer in 1981 while they were on vacation and my favorite pet is the S&W model 17-3/K-22 6" my mom gave me for my 20th birthday in 1986. I'm told it belonged to Harlon Carter the old NRA president. It's one heck of a shooter.:D

I have a 32-20 S&W that was my grandfathers, he bought it in War WV.at the "company store" around 1919, will never be sold or traded, also have his Winchester 1897 12 gauge dated 1911 36" full choke barrel, again it will be passed along but never sold. They both came to me in 1968.

S&W 19-4 357 Mag I bought new. 6" barrel blue finish. Thousands of rounds. Still 95% or better. Have original wood grips, but when I shoot I change to rubber as not to nick or scratch the wood. LOL Will never let it go. Original box, papers, tools.

I still have the M-19 I bought while stationed at Wheelus Field, Tripoli, Lybia in 1962. I've drug it all over the world during my Air Force career. it is still a 99% pistol and shoots great. A testimony to a quality firearm.

SWCA 892

PS It cost $92.00 out of an A1C pay of $165.00 a month.

The revolver I have had the longest is my Ruger Police Service Six 4 inch 357 magnum. Has a lot of use. I still carry it once in awhile. I did not start buying S&W revolvers until after I bought my Service Six.
