Your words of wisdom about "quality over quantity" are right on the money.don't fret over it now TTSH ...no gun is worth that.....the best change I made in my gun buying agenda was to concentrate on quality instead of quantity....your next "score" is just around the corner....get prepared for it now
I got the exact same advice from a shop owner just two months back. It won't be easy with our lists and regs here in MA. I've bought what I've bought because those are the 3rd Gens I could find locally or, in some cases, I was allowed to import. The challenge of finding and being able to buy non-listed, upscale (PC) guns is going to be awfully damn hard and costly. In fact, perhaps too costly for my age and situation. 
Methinks it's going to be a very long time before the pain of this particular loss subsides.
I think I'll always be known on the forum as that idiot 3rd Gen collector who let the ultimate 3rd Gen find ever slip right through his hands. And yeah, I deserve it.
