IMO, your revolver displays design, fit and finish, and overall quality that is much too high for some craft made, or back ally knock-off; certainly not a "boat anchor" or "paper weight". Much more research is needed here. Sure the timing is obviously off and it has endshake, but the "Coltish" leaf spring arrangement, pinned barrel, and arrangement and quality of internal parts indicate a well thought out design and very good quality. I for one am going to spend some time with this thing ( I'm thinking Spain-"Eiber Model 92", Italy, or central Europe ?), and would love to be able to find something for you.

The cylinder stop "drag line" is a possible clue.

I have no idea where made but if it wasn't Spain it was a knock off of a Spanish knock off , of a S&W.

The Spanish copies I have seen usually use a bit of S&W lock work with a bit of Colt lock work which this one appears to do as well. As others have said proceed with caution if you plan on shooting it not saying it would blow up, as it probably been shot, but I could see you getting powder burns, and shaved lead.

I seem to remember S&W using that style mainspring on special order years ago - I believe that it was pictured in Guns magazine also - will search + post if I can find it -
