What To Do On A Cold Snowy Day In Buffalo

That's what people think and we'll keep it that way. Don't want people moving here and adding more traffic and taking more welfare money.

The truth is that when "Buffalo" snow is reported it is measured at the Weather Service Office. So far this Winter, "technically" we have received snow every day since January 31st. Many of those days I saw sunshine, blue skies and green grass at my house. I'm only 12 miles north, outside of the "snow belt".

So far I have only used my snowblower twice, and washed my car in my driveway every weekend except for one.

Jim, you can talk till you’re blue in the face. If they ain’t from here they don’t get it. Hell most people think Buffalo is NY City. The 6th burrow.

Nice looking presentation case.
What am I doing on this cold snowy day you ask?
Feeling sorry for myself because I was too dang lazy to chop firewood last fall.
...oh and freezing. :(

I know I just like to be ornery.

About 25 years ago I was on a business trip to Minneapolis. As luck would have it my rental car was brand new with 5 miles on the odometer. As bad luck would have it the radiator was not properly prepared.

I was only there one day. The next morning I came out of the hotel and it was -30F. I had about 10 miles t the airport and decided to go as fast as I could. After a few miles I realized there was a problem. The windshield was freezing up from my breath and the temp gauge was soaring. Then....boom. Green fluid sprayed out of both sides of the hood. The last mile I ran 2 red lights (no cars around). The engine was chugging. As I pulled into the Avis lot the engine blew and I coasted in. My teeth were chattering so bad I could hardly speak.

I put the rental contact in the slot and walked to the USAir counter. I still had no voice. The girlie behind the counter took my boarding pass and suitcase and said: "Oh you're going to Buffalo....it's sooo cold there". Good thing I had no voice because I would probably have said what I was thinking.

The second coldest I was EVER, was in Tampa Fl when the hmidity was high and the orange groves were freezing. My crew at the new plant startup cleaned out every single pair of long johns that KMart had in stock.

As the kid in the commercial once said: "I Love NY". Now if we could only make NY City a different state, we would be fine.
