What value for a used 3913?

That is a good price. Prices run from there to double that if you are talking nearly new condition with original box. The 3913 is a VERY popular 3rd Gen and is in more demand than many other 3rd Gen models. If it isn't wrecked, that is a very good price.

I bought one, a police trade in model 10 years ago, with one mag for $300.00. I think you found one reasonably priced.

I traded an lc9 with extra mag I bought new for one I found on FB before they outlawed sales. I figured to jump on it before the guy who wanted to trade regretted his decision.

At the time in 2013 the lc9 cost me 350 and 3913 averaged the same. Now used lc9's the first gen are 300 and under and 3913s average around 400 and up on the auction site.

I hate to rain on the parade here, but there are some things to check on one that's available for that price. The trigger could be 'floppy' (back and forth) if the trigger return spring is broken. Unlikely, but it could have a cracked frame so it pays to look closely at the frame. No matter what, I suggest that you ask to pull the slide which will make it easier to check out. Speaking of slide, and this mistake cost me over $100 last year - check to see how much vertical play the muzzle end of the slide has on the frame. I bought one that was so loose it would shift, on the frame, by just turning it onto it's side. That was a hard lesson - but someone bought it at a great price for a truck gun. Also, I have not seen this but heard about it; check the two frame 'wings' behind the magazine well as one could be cracked, or worse, broken off and gone. Folks get carried away driving the mounting pin when changing grips and break one of the wings off.

Don't get me wrong, I like them very much and they're the best metal-framed auto S&W ever made IMHO. I have a near-new 3913LS, a refurbed 3953 (Thanks to BMCM) and recently an as-new 3913NL. I am always looking for another but it pays to check them out closely.

If it is mechanically sound and in good condition, a 3913 with three mags for $350 is a very good deal.

I think $350 with the mags is a good price. I'm seeing them all day around Charlotte, NC for $400-$425, used with no box. I'd jump on a clean 3913 for $350 if in the market.

Slightly unrelated but for general info purposes...sold a 3913TSW (no rail / short grip) with 2 mags yesterday for $550 and had a lot of interest in that price range. Listed a 4553TSW short grip / no rail for $649.00. We'll see how that goes. Folks are looking for these single stack Third Generations and $350 is hard to pass up if good cosmetics and functional.

I agree with everyone that its a good price especially if its in good condition. I payed $500 for a minty 3913 with original box and 4 S&W magazines a few months back. A real joy to shoot and keep it in my carry rotation.
