What was the First Gun you purchased for yourself?

Glenfield bolt action .22lr. Bought it with my first real paycheck. My dad had to sign the paperwork since I was under age. Still have it. Drag it to the range every now and then.

Just to say hello from a new guy. My first was a ruger Speed-six stainless .38; but recently bought a SW 99. It is a great gun! Bought 04/10, 2009 and stolen on 05/02/2009. I was heart broke and can't stop thinking about it! Like being violated. Have a cabinet full of guns and love them all, like my children.

First gun I bought myself ('63 or '64) was a Model 1893 Mauser (Spanish Mauser) mfg by Lowe, Berlin. 7x57cal complete with bayonet and everything in absolutely mint condition. Total cost was $12.99

Remington FMJ ammo, 20rd cardboad boxes w/ red paper lable were $1 each.

A bit later I bought a 1917 US Enfield (Eddystone)for $25.00. GI Surplus (AP)ammo was $4/hundred and it was my woodchuck gun for several years.

First handgun ('67) was a Ruger Standard Model 22 pistol 4" new for $41.50.

Not sure if anyone remembers these things... http://www.paintball.com/pics/gotcha/gotcha_inbox.jpg but that was my first

. Then a 1970s bb gun pistol... (still have it) and then a S&W 432pd.

A Ruger Security Six from the Marine Corp Recruit Depot in San Diego. A buddy and I were learning to reload then, and that gun covered up a mistake or two.

The first gun that I bought myself was a Remington 870 Wingmaster 12 ga. w/smoothbore slug barrel. the first handgun I ever bought was a S&W mod. 27 w/3 1/2" barrel. Sure wish I still had them.

A Smith and Wesson Model 28 Highway Patrolman with a 4 inch barrel. I really wanted a Model 19, but as a college student who had a part-time job as a security guard, I couldn't afford the Model 19 and all of other stuff needed. I got the gun, a Bucheimer Clark swivel holster (that I still have), and a set of S&W target grips for less than the price of the Model 19.

Ruger Super Bearcat which I still have. It was to be my fishing gun for snakes and such.

(hangs head in shame)

Ruger P89. I wanted a "Murrican-made 9mm before the evil Clinton restrictions kicked in. I did have long arms (family weapons) and mY father bought me a M57 (my $$, but he bought it 'cause I wasn't old enough to do so legally) but the Ruger was the first I actually bought myself. Still have it.

Ithaca model 37 with 20" deer slayer barrel and 28" modified barrel.Next was a left hand remington model 581 22RF.First handgun was a S&W model 15 with 3 T's

First rifle, Parker Hale bolt-action in .243
Two shotguns, Ithaca Model 37 in 16Ga, Beretta O/U in 2oGa
Pistol, Beretta Model 76 in 22
Revolver, S&W Model 36 snubbie...
I bought all but the snubbie while stationed in England in the USAF many moons ago

A Bayard Model of 1908. A small .380 auto. About the size of a P32, but heavier because it's all steel. Still have it. Looks like this, but mine is nickel with custom wood grip panels.
