I found a 342 the other day at a pawn shop in town. He was asking $529.00 for it, it had alot of carry wear and had the internal lock. I thought at the time that was expensive, but I don't know what they sold for new. What did they sell for new?

My Pre Lock 342Ti has $539.95 written on the box
I recieved it Unfired except for the three test rounds for $550 3-4 month ago..
Also Mine has the factory Diamondwood Grips..
I think that $529 might be a bit on the high side but I also heard that a Pre Lock 342Ti sold on Gunbroker for over $900..WOW!!!
Stuff Like that Drives Prices Up!!
Get a Blue Book & Look up the 342Ti, with wear it should go for Less IMO..
Good Luck!!

I purchased my pre-lock 342Ti in April of 2000 from a local S&W LE Distributor and paid $488.00+tax, which I believe was something like a 10% law enforcement discount.
I paid $529 for a 342Ti PD a few years ago, had Ahrends stocks and the Hi Viz sight. My son picked up a NIB 342Ti trade-in last year for under $500. Both were pre-lock guns.
This NIB pre-lock 342 sat in a local dealer's inventory for seven years, from 1999 until I finally bought it in August of 2006. He apparently had it listed for $489.95 the entire time...and that's what I paid for it, exactly two years ago today.
lsxpower, I'd pass on that pawn shop gun. A 342 with internal lock would barely be worth $529 if it was NIB, and I wouldn't even pay $400 for one with a lot of wear. The 342's that have been selling for high prices lately are all pre-lock versions.
Mine was $500 nib in 2000 with the dymondwood grips. I bought the first one I saw and it is still one of my three-gun rotation of carry pieces. Does a lot of work in the summer. I would pay $500 for another nib in the .32 just to have it. Of course I also have to add that there is no way I would SELL mine for that price! I'd pass on an abused one but mainly because I already have one.
Maybe you would get your best answers if you started a new thread with your question, but I believe the answer might be found thus:
I believe the unloaded weight of the 337 per the SCSW, 3rd edition, is 11.3 oz. (I do not have the book with me right now to check my memory), meaning the ammo weighs 13.5 - 11.3 = 2.2 oz. The SCSW lists the 642 at 15.8 oz., making a loaded weight of 15.8 + 2.2 = 18.0 oz.
