What was your first N frame?

1963, 6" M-28, what else. I have owned 3 or 4 M-28s over the years, plus M-27s in every barrel length except 3 1/2", but never a 4" 28.

Shot a ton of the Speer 146 and 160 gr. half jacket bullets over the years. Wish they still made those bullets!

A 6 inch 28-2 (pictured). Had to drag my mother with me to the gun shop to actually make the purchase. !977. I was 18, had my CT Carry Pistol Permit, but was too young to actually buy the gun. I think I paid $125 OTD for it. Those magna grips just didn't cut it for my big hands, so I sent a tracing to Herrets, and had a set of Jordan's Trooper stocks made. Been an N frame fan ever since.

CORRECTION
I forgot my 629-2 Mountain Revolver was actually my first N frame, not the 6” 27-2 and 6” 25-2. I bought those soon after, however. I was now hooked on N frames. My 6.5” 629-4 Classic and 4” 625-3 soon followed.

Mine was a brand new 28-3. Gun , Bianchi holster , speed loader and pouch and two boxes of ammo out the door for exactly $357.00 in early 80”s. A gift from my father.

My first and only N frame was a 28-2 purchased new in ‘75-76. I carried it on the job from ‘77 to ‘88 when we transitioned to semi-autos (Sig P226). Still have the Sig, but sadly not the 28. Edit: I guess I do still have one N frame, a 1937 Brazilian.
Good shootin’,

As Maurice Chevalier sang..."ah yes, I remember it well..."

A 6.5" model 629-4 Power Port. Unlocked intermittently with firing, no one could figure out why and sold it. Others since then have worked better. :)

My first N-frame was a Pre-23 purchased by my Dad in the 50’s. It was given to me in 1973. Every other gun I owned then including some beautiful Model 19’s, Colt Python, and Combat Commander are long gone. I could only afford one gun at a time. So I was constantly trading away some good ones. I’ve replaced some traded away at a large premium in cost....
