what would a good price be for a 1951 K38?

Don, I didn't realize you were talking about a Combat Masterpiece rather than the six-inch Masterpiece. I got a good early CM last year for $400, and I have seen others in high condition go for $400-450 in the last year.

I would be suspicious of the one you posted because it has the high-polish finish (not standard in 1951) and post-1968 target stocks. I think this gun has been refinished; how do you get a gun with no turn ring, an unexpected finish, and the wrong stocks? It's good looking, but $560 is way too high in my opinion. This is not a collector piece; it is a good looking shooter and should be valued accordingly -- I'd say $300-350.

I have to agree with David - in spades. That gun does not look right.
Its the wrong finish, at that serial number. Not only that, but its the
wrong color.

I'd stay far far away from that gun. I don't think the seller knows what
he has, and it isn't worth the trouble in trying to deal with him about
it.

Thanks guys. I posted the description as he had it listed, and looking at the photos again I thought it looked too good, so I am glad I posted the one I did.

That ends that one for sure.

Much appreciated.

Now, about that 66 no dash with stainless rear sight.....
