What would you do ?

BUYING BACK YOUR OWN GUN

I had to laugh as for the first time in 38 yrs and 100's of guns I bought one of my own back. a win 94xtr 375 cal mint. bought for 150$ in 1983, sold for 500$ in 2007, and re-bought in 2013 for 750$ (with 10 boxes of ammo). sure glad it's home. trading/selling a vintage 686 to get an lcr?, hello McFly is anyone home?

Another vote for keeping them both. I sold a 586 I wish I had kept. I still have a 686 I don't plan on selling. My only excuse for selling the 586 was I needed money and it had a small scratch on the barrel. At the time I thought I could always buy a better one for the $350 I got, no way today.
I still have my first gun a Model 19 and a Ruger Red Eagle my buddy gave me before he died. If it came down to it I'd sell my first gun before the one I inherited although neither are for sale.

Girlfriend sounds like a keeper also.

She really is , been with her 12 years now . She likes guns and never gives me a hard time when I come home with a new one.

I dont know what I was thinking , that is just crazy .

Beautiful guns, a real sweetheart for a girlfriend, man you are one lucky dude. I also have a girlfriend who does nothing but smile when I walk in with a new gun, even after I have said, about the previous one, this is the last one...

A part of gun ownership is pride in your firearms. You will find shooting is much more fun and memorable. The Ruger LCR is a working man's gun and won't appreciate in value as much as the 686.

Its funny watching her , I always open the gun and show that its empty before I hand it to her . When I give it to her she always puts it in her right hand and feels the weight of it first , then with two hands points it at the wall ,finger is never on the trigger, then gives it another look and and tells me its nice and asks if its a .9mm . I always get a chuckle when she says " Is this a .9mm?" I think its the only caliber she remembers .

I totally agree

I'm with the majority... Keep both and get the LCR when you have the cash.

I have my day's Highway Patrolman (his duty gun as a LEO). I will be passing it along to my son as a remembrance of the grandfather he never knew.

Bill
