I have a Model 28-2 6" in beautiful condition (not even a turn line), & have the opportunity to trade it for a 4" 686 no-dash in about the same condition. I usually know exactly what I want, but in this case I feel like an indecisive girl !

No box or papers with either, & it looks like the values are comparable. I'm not in a position to keep it & buy the other, so... What would you do ? Your experienced opinions are much appreciated.

Potential coin flip, huh? Well I tend to default to earlier models vice more recent. My 2 cents...

Keep the 28. There won't be anymore of them, particularly in that condition.

Do I see a pattern developing here?

as a collector piece i'd go with the 28. for shooting i would take the one that felt better for that purpose.

I can make my no box 686 look absolutely unfired except for 3 charge holes. Can you make a 28 look like that?
Plenty of 686s
Keep the 28.

Good point Pred, & no I can't. Thanks for the replies gentlemen.

Keep the twenty eight! You'll regret it if you don't. TONS of 686s out there.

I think the tribe has spoken, the 28 is going nowhere. Now off to sell a kidney for the 686.
