What would your “bug out” handgun be?

Probably one of my 10 millimeter guns.

Likely my Ed Brown LS-10. I have a chest rig for it and it will reach on out there.

Don't forget the "Senorita pistols", a deep concealed derringer, goes a long way sometimes!

Ivan

An old buddy of mine has a basically derringer in 357 mag. It's an over/under two barrel, forget the make? Kinda looks like the old pepperbox.

Not a target gun for sure but baby what a big surprise kinda gun when the going gets tough.

Probably my Sig 365 XL with Holosun holographic sight, but if I would need to be stealthy then I would take my Ruger 22/45 with Bushnell red dot and Spectre II supressor.

I have traditional American Derringer in 357 Mag. At 25' the barrels are 17" apart. I found I could regulate them to a 4" group @ 25' with the lower barrel using 125 grain 357 STHP and the upper barrel with a 158 LSWC +P 38 special.

But my thoughts on the "Senorita Pistols" would be a derringer in 22Mag, of which I have a few!

Bug Out Handgun

Not even in my top 20 favorite handguns, and without reading into the thousand different scenarios.......

My Gen II Glock 19 and the 2 dozen or so mags that I have accumulated over the 30+ plus years I have had it.

Don't even like it but I respect it for the tool it was designed to be.

I like this post!

'Bug Out', to me, implies sxxx has hit the fan one way or another. Whatever the way would probably not make a difference to me.

It interesting to see the variation in firearms and calibers.

I try to think logically and with some common sense.

My favorite guns would probably not be considered. I would take whatever has the most availability of ammunition.

It would be a 9mm & 22lr. There will be plenty of ammo for both of these calibers.

Other calibers would be iffy finding should additional ammo is needed.

I probably would not take a rifle, too much to handle if one is on foot and on the lookout for possible negative problems. If the problem is at a long distance, let it be only deal with immediate life threatening issues. PS: If I were to take a rifle it would be 223 rem (ammo availability)

Before you bring up what about a sniper:
1 - They will probably take you out with first shot so it does not matter.
2 - If not they are a poor shooter so run, hide whatever it takes to put distance between you and them.

Now you know how hunting pray feels.

One gun? JUST ONE?

If push came to shove and I could only take one it would be a high capacity 9mm like this one:

Beretta M92 - Italian surplus:

I'll stop there because I'm limited to one BUG-OUT gun.

Which would never happen.........guns are way to easy to bug out with and I'd probably take at least 6. And ammunition for all of them.
