What year was my pistol built?

I read many articles and I'm still confused as to the year of manufacture for my S&W .22 lr pistol, serial number: M54553.
Any help would be appreciated greatly, thanks.

Early 70's maybe 1972 or 1973. Is it a model 34, 43, 51, 63?
