What's a 34 no dash .22 worth?

Hi everyone. I asked this on another forum, but didn't get many responses. It's a late '50's model 34, 4" barrel, with excellent (98%) finish BUT non-original rubber grips no box or papers. They want $500 but I think they might take $450. What do you think? Thanks for any opinions/ insight you can provide. - Jim

$450 would be a great price. G-broker prices are closer to $500 and nickel $550. They ain't making any more and the ragged ones ain't getting any better.

Jim, Model 34s are excellent guns. People enjoy shooting and carrying them and don't like to let them go easily. With a 4" barrel, it will make an excellent "kit gun" for woods walks and plinking, and in fact Kit Gun is the original name of this model before model numbers. The gun you are looking at is currently priced at full retail value or possibly a bit high. With box and papers, or even just original stocks, sure $500 would be acceptable. I would be more comfortable with a price between $400-450, but if you like the gun and want it, $450 isn't too bad at all. Good luck and let us know if you buy it.

I bought this one last week, arrived yesterday. Looks like it just walked out of the factory, not a mark on it except for a faint drag-line on the cylinder. 34 "no dash" serial number in the 53XXX range, no box or papers, $499.00. Photos don't do it justice....
