What's Cooking For Easter Sunday Dinner?

For the first time in several decades, we are NOT having an Easter ham.

My wife decided we should have Ruthie Goldstein's "Passover" brisket using a recipe from the local paper. We are Lutherans and my wife is Norwegian!!

Sure hope she does not get any more kosher ideas and the only thing being sliced tomorrow is the brisket.

Well, I do a ham with an apple cinnamon glaze, Homemade potatoe salad, macaroni and cheese along with my green beans. The green beans are very good, take 6 strips of bacon and fry them crisp, leaving the grease in the pan, drop in 2 cups of cut green beans and flash fry them with a small onion finely chopped. crumble the bacon on top, and add about 1/4 cup of parmesan cheese. then put the whole shebang in the oven for 20 minutes or so on 350 degrees. good stuff.

mom's cooking a ham, sweet potatoes, green beans and a pineapple upside down cake for dessert

Going to my wifes cousin's house.
Antipasta, chicken parm, stuffed shells, salad, all kinds of veggies, couple pies baked by the missus, pastries from Sal and Doms, brownies baked by the MIL, assorted chocalates, etc etc.:rolleyes:

A very large smoked ham, "Uncle Charlie's world famous baked beans," and buttered garlic new potatoes that will be dug up fresh in the morning. Will feed off the leftover ham next week in the form of breakfast, sandwiches, po-boys, and lastly Navy bean soup.

Bean recipe: Take two 28 oz. cans of Bush's baked beans and pour them into a large mixing bowl. Add one pound of browned ground beef. (I use venison) Add one pound of sliced link pork sausage. (mine is mixed with venison) Add chopped onions and peppers to taste. Pour in 6 oz. of honey. Add BBQ sauce to taste. (I use Sweet Baby Ray's) Sprinkle in a Tony's type seasoning and a little garlic salt. Add two tablespooms Worcestershire sauce. Stir the mess up and pour it into a pan with adequate sides. Top with several slices of thick bacon. Put it in the oven at 350 for 20 minutes and then broil for five minutes to make the bacon better. Allow to cool for a few minutes and then pop a Lipitor and a cold beer and enjoy.

Garlic and rosemary herbed lamb chops on the Big Green Egg... puree cauliflower with sour cream and chives... steamed asparagus with a nice bottle of malbec.

We's gonna have, fried eggs, poached eggs, boiled eggs, scrambled eggs, chocolate eggs, and fried rabbit, and beer.
Happy Easter ya'll,
gordon
