What's has been the hardest S&W for you to find

The one that I haven't been able to find is a lot more common than most of the ones mentioned ... I've looked for a 2 1/2" model 19 for about the last year or so with no luck at all. I finally saw and bought a model 66 which I think is a great gun .... but its not a 19.
Having said that I do have a 3" model 28 with a round butt .. and a CS45 that I pretty much bought right on the spot. Since neither one is real common, I guess I can't complain about the 19 ......but I'm still looking.

I've been searching for a 4 inch 657 for a long time. They just don't appear for sale up here.

Nickel 5 screw 4 inch pre-29, 8 3/8ths 5 screw pre-29 that were originally shipped in these configurations. If I find either before I leave the planet, I'll figure I won the lottery. Not certain either were ever made though, maybe the 4 inch nickel gun but probably not the long tube, unless S&W had some old 5 screw frames laying around in 1958 and stuck a long barrel on one of those. One can dream :)

S&W-Keeper

There are several 547's on GunBroker. At the moment they may be the rarer 4" version but I have seen a couple of 3" versions on that site very recently. The 547"s show up regularly on GunBroker. I have a 4" version and really like it.

TL Target

Geez, Chuck, I thought you'd mention the elusive stocks you've been searching for. Finally got the .44 3rd Target and the RM, so the only thing left on the short list is a TL Target (discounting the 5" 29s and 6 1/2" 29-1s that some guys are hoarding)--Kevin, if you're listening, you too. Don't know why everyone says the 6 1/2" 27-2s are hard to find--I must have lucked out on those. I will agree that the Pres are easier--also more expensive--but the toughest for me was the 27-1 in 6 1/2". I bought the only one I've ever seen for sale, and paid a ton---but not as much as the fabled Fugate Bros. 3 1/2", though. WOW.

I had a chance to buy a 5 inch 29 about 25 yrs ago and passed on it. One of my many regrets of gun buying.

Nickle Pre-Model CM 22 (Pre-18), to beat Chuck and Bill in finding the 4" 5 screw nickle 44 magnum (sorry guys), nickle 2" Detroit PD M&P (Pre-Model)

Curtis, that's a race you'll win every time. I don't believe there is a nickel 4 in 5 screw out there but again, I didn't think I'd ever see an 8 3/8ths 5 screw turn up either and it looks like one just has. I'd like to read the letter on that one.

For me it was two guns. Revolving Rifle sn 1. Which I had to take out a loan for. The second one I still don't have, but, I am waiting. That one will have to remain a secret.

An unported, original, classic hunter.

Any nice or shooter condition K22 (or model 17 or 18).

A RM less than 3K that is nice....yea, I know.

Model 57 Silhouette...they made two and one was cut down to 6"...

Model 57 5"...I have see Doc's so I know at least one is out there...

Model 57 4" made in 1964... Just a good shooter grade gun to go with my 6". I could have bid on Bill Jordan's original gun but decided not to go to the auction. Leroy Thompson bought it and have been kicking myself ever since...

A gun that I looked for a long time for was a Class A engraved 57 4"...saw a few 6" guns around but never a 4"...finally found one in blue and later another in nickel...both made in 1980 just like my blue 57....

...one can dream....Bob

four inch kit gun 22lr

Blue or stainless, shooter not collector grade, and a 1076 shooter grade. I have simple tastes and a low budget. But no luck finding either of these. I am sure that there will always be another S&W to look for, as there always has been. Best of luck to all of you in your particular searches.
S&W 45 Colt

The one gun on my wish list today, because tomorrow I'll want something else also, is a Model 25 in 45LC in a 4" nickle. I don't go into shops with a wish list. I go in looking for deals on any N frame. I figure any N frame that I can get a deal on will not be one that I regret not buying. lol

Right now it's a post-War .38 Terrier (with original I-frame, not improved.) Of course as soon as that one shows up, I'll have a "next big deal" that I just won't be able to live without. It might be a nice pre-War .32 HE Target, or then again, it might be...

I have three revolvers I am hunting for. First I would like to find a M&P pre 10 4 inch vintage 1950 or a combat masterpiece pre-15 4 inch 1950 vintage. This is my birth year. Next is a model 10-6 4 inch 357 magnum. Last one would be a model 13-2 3 inch to go with my model 13-2 4 inch.
Regards,
Howard
