What's involved to swap a LH mag release to a RH on a 1026?

Acquired a beautiful 1026 recently that I have come to really like, but the previous owner was wrong-handed and has a wrong-handed mag release on the gun.

How much work and what parts am I looking at to make it work for us "normal" folks?

I have no experience with the 1026 and at first thought the only left handed mag release I had seen on a 3rd gen type pistol was a P/C gun that had been customized. So you could have a spring and plunger on the right side. But looking at the pictures of the models with the frame mounted D/C it looks to me like those guns have the machining to be ambi. It looked to me like the position of the plunger/spring might be such that you can just reverse the mag catch. I would think the mags have a cut out on both sides. I have 9/40 mags that do but my 4506 mags dont. Otherwise I guess all you would need is a mag release with the right bevel/ normal left side release.Interesting....wish I had one to look at..

Isn't it wonderful to find that in the 21st century there are still folk around who choose to stigmatize left handers.
