What's the best hand primer?

Take a look at Frankford Arsenal Platinum Series Perfect Seat Tool Midway $60.00) or the K&M Deluxe Primer Seating Tool (K&M Products $63.00) .
They cost a little more than the Lee Auto-Prime but you get what you pay for. These are 5 star units .

I use the Frankford Arsenal and am very happy.

Tried the Lee & it lasted about 100 primers. First primer that was slightly misaligned exploded the plastic.

Buy once, cry once.

Old thread coming back... it actually brings us to a Ford vs Chevy mode... it all comes down to what you use and what you think works best for you. I've owned literally close to a dozen different re- and decappers of various types and for certain applications, certain ones stand out for me. If I could only have one, I'd like a new-made (better materials) copy of the original Lee with screw-in shell holders. There is a Pope style re- and de- out there somewhere that takes standard RCBS style shell holders. That would also be a strong contender for me.

The K&M and Sinclair tools work great, and will last a lifetime.

I agree with Benchrest1. I have the Sinclair probably the best on the Market and I also have 2 of the K&M priming that I use for Handgun cases. I changed to a hand primer after having a lot of high primers with a press primer.

My Favorite may not be the "Best"

I've used three different over the years including the RCBS, Lee Auto Prime (round)and Lee one at a time screw in type. The latter is my favorite and I have several with dedicated shell holders, which allow me to have a complete set-up for each cartridge. I even have a set-up for the Plastic 38s with the large primers. I buy them used on ebay and all is good!

Your question: Best hand primer. Sinclair makes one used by precision shooters. It is expensive. I'm thinking best is not always the most expensive.

Just pointing out, the Sinclair sells for $100 plus $20 for each shellholder. The Frankford Arsenal goes for $70, shellholders included.

In the great pantheon of reloading tools, that ain't that much.
