What's the story behind your User Name?

This being a Smith & Wesson forum and my name Wes Smith think about that for awhile and i will get back with you

when i first got my m&p 40 c i could not hit the broad side of a barn and was dang certain the gun had some major issues.well turns out i was the one with the issues and not the gun. now that i have corrected the error of some of my ways i can say im shooting much better.:D

Mine's a nickname that was hung on me (and stuck) when I was a wet behind the ears engineer on my first job at a foundry. I had a ratty black leather jacket that I wore at the time. My name's Hyde, so I spell it that way.

haggis? Could be Scottish, maybe. :D The story behind Buck is definitely more interesting.

Buck

In spite of the name, I am not from, nor have I ever been in Louisiana. Nor do I play guitar...I can bairly play a radio.

But, back in the day, I used to run Cajun bass boats. Had two of them actually before they went under, and I switched to Javelin.

When I first started to look for an online name, I happened to glance out the back door, and saw the boat. CajunBassBoat was too long. ;)

I had a 1971 Olds Vista Cruiser that I swapped a .030 455 Olds into (making it 461 Cubic inches).

Hence Vista461

Now that big block V-8 station wagon would certainly bring home the groceries!

I once had a 1964 vista cruiser station wagon. Almost forgot about it. Bought it used in about 1972. Fire engine red.

My first ever email address was my employee number: TX1941. Now I have about 20 different user names and pass words. Every thing from the bank to the phone company to the pizza joint wants an "account", and remembering all of them is a pain. When the only computers I used were on my desk at the office or house, I could write them down and find them when needed. Not so much anymore.

I try to make my passwords as secure as possible, but I often use some variation on that original email address for my user name. At least I can remember it...

This thread has been done before, but I love talking about myself, so here goes. I was an Army photographer serving with the 1st Battle Group, 20th Infantry Regiment.

Even though I grew up in Mississippi, I have spent the last 38 years in Louisiana. I married a girl from Louisiana and my 2 kids graduated from LSU.

and my name is Joe

I worked for USGS from 1972 to 2010 installing and maintaining earthquake recorders all across the US. My job took me from Hawaii to Puerto Rico and Fairbanks to El Centro.

Mine came up on one of those random alphanumeric generator web sites - I liked it so much that, after a little Chianti, I had my birth name changed to fit it - this is what I came up with:

Lou Tentromono

"Truck 'em up!" is the truckers' version of "Get 'er done!" Yahoo made me add a number at the end, and my old International is a '97 model. As others have said, it's easier to use the same screen name on all your forums.
