I placed an order for some supplies late Sunday & they still haven't processed my order, or even approved the credit card amount yet after four full business days? I called the other day to ask & got a curt answer that it's their busy season (I guess no one planned for it?). When I pressed them when it would ship (items are in-stock) she said probably by the end of the week !?

I haven't used them in some time but they processed/shipped in a day back then, like I usually get from Midway. Is anybody else having this issue too?

Brownells wanted 15.95 to ship an AR safety, carbine gas tube and roll pin to me in Virginia. I took the items out of my cart and bought them on eBay. Brownells, with their increased shipping and longer processing, coupled with those mewling "tech experts" that popup while you are on their website are fast making them my NOT go to guys for gun parts. Shame too, because they WERE the best in the business...

Apparently Brownell's has made some changes. I'm not sure what they are, but it definately isn't for the better.
I used to get my order in 3-4 days. Now it takes a week and a half. What the hell were they thinking?

Ahhh, didn't need to hear this.. Just ordered a set of XS sights yesterday (Midway did not have them for the Shield).. Oh Well..

Brownells slow processing

I have to say that I have been using Brownells for quite some time. However, yesterday, I wanted to place an order for some gunsmihing items. I used to use Midway but they have eliminated the gunsmithing and C&R license discount a while ago. I compared the two site with the items I wanted and Midway was considerably cheaper. Even though there was free shipping from Brownells with over $75.00 on an order, I decided to order from Midway. I saved at least $30.00 on my order and shipping was cheaper. I received an e-mail on the same day as I placed the order informing me the items have been shipped and I would be receiving it on Monday as indicated by the tracking number. I was really impressed with the turn around with Midway. I guess I will be using them more often in the subsequent orders.

I heard the brownells guys are not involved with day to day operations any longer. they hired somebody to do this job. to bad he isn't.

They're in process of moving from Montezuma to Grinnell. Opening a big retail store close to I80. No excuse for poor service, though.

I am a part time gun smith, I have not done much in the last 4 or 5 years due to my day job but they used to be great.

I for one loved their promptness and service.

Sad to hear. I wonder if anyone at Brownell's monitors this forum? Customers are letting you know about service perception.

Ordered the other day and received everything three days later. Two items were out of stock - SW stock pin and wolf spring , we will see how long they take . Got parts for revolvers,1911,and AR plus chemicals etc.very satisfied with service and price.

On the way, finally

Well, good news. I sent them a query off their website last night & they replied today saying it just shipped, so I'll get it Tuesday. :)

They changed their website some time ago (last year?) & I didn't like the new format & haven't used them again until now. Maybe their move played into the delay? Dunno.

Midway didn't have the gunsmithing supplies I was after so I was a their mercy. :p

I'm shocked!

This thread hasn't (yet) turned into an "I hate Larry and Midway but can't control myself. Stop me please before I order again!."

Well, I just happened on this and I don't want you to be shocked any longer, so:

I hate Larry and Midway!

I hope that lessens your shock and you can properly focus on the alleged shortcomings of Brownells.

(Just kidding! About your shock that is, not about Larry and Midway).

I'm still waiting for a back order from Brownells for a simple rifle/shotgun cheek pad ( I need to raise up my weld spot to line up better with my scope). It's been 3 months, and I called the other day and was told "it should be in any day". I formerly used Midway for everything but like the change dropping the C&R discount and the no selection on shipping (took 8 days to get my last order). But with Brownells, it looks like I'm going back to Midway. I have nothing against Larry, with what they do for the NRA, and all the youth shooting sports they deserve lots of credit.
